The adjustment he made in terms of taking off-stump guard made no sense. He struggles to access the leg-side and doesn't play well off his pads - it's bizarre that a batting coach would let a player with his scoring profile crab further across his stumps. It makes sense when Smith did it, it's absolutely ridiculous for Konstas.

I'm glad the Konstas experiment should be over. I wrote before he was picked that he wasn't ready but we needed the data to back it up, the selectors have that now. I don't think he should be selected until he banks up 3 or 4 seasons of consistent run scoring - he's not ready as a player and doesn't seem mature enough as a person.

Ideally, Marnus scores runs in the Shield and opens with Khawaja come the Ashes.

Despite his batting record Konstas has been good in the field and it highlights why we need Labuschagne back making runs and keeping up a good tempo in the field.,
Green was a positive and held his nerves with the other wickets falling around him.
On purely a weight of runs he hasn't had a really great series but he puts value on his wicket and has strung some much needed scores.
Cummins should have been out late in the day with the ball coming off his gloves.

their batting is crap but gee they don’t help themselves by serving up pitches like we have seen. Pitches that favour bowling always make cricket more exciting but those pitches have been outrageous. Experienced players struggled let alone players with little technical ability.

Did I hear they're very likely to lose their 'Test Status'? If so it's a shame but it doesn't highlight their lack of competitiveness.
India, Australia and England should be looking to financially support the Windies so that they don't lose too many of the better players to other sports.

I missed the first ball of the day which was the Green dismissal. Other than that it was it was just wicket after wicket.
It's a shame to see the Windies so poor with the bat right through the series.

Worst batting line-up I've ever seen in 50 years of test cricket. Shamar Joseph took 22 wickets at 14 for the series - that should be a series winning effort but it wasn't even close due to their useless batsmen.

Lets not discount the number of dropped catches as well.
There as district cricket sides that would have put up a better fight with the bat and been more competitive in the field.
They have some good bowlers but need to find 3 batsman who want to bat for long periods.

It's a tragedy what has happened to the Windies. From 1980 to 1995 they didn't lose a test series anywhere, and were probably the best team in global sports history. Most of that all conquering team were my childhood heroes growing up. They have been effectively useless for nearly 30 years now, since Ambrose and Walsh retired (and Lara shortly thereafter).

Their current bowling line-up is better than good, they are borderline elite and still very young. But they are simply not going to have the opportunities to win games because their batsmen are so meek, unable to fight through difficult patches, and obviously flawed in techniques. It's just sad to see, as effectively test cricket will become a race in 3 moving forward. SAF will eventually drop off as will NZ.

Test cricket is still the best form of the game, as witnessed last night at Lords - what a cracking match. If the Windies had even semi-decent batsmen, they would have really pushed a series result against Australia. They only had to chase 200 today - the pitch was tricky but it was no minefield.

Final word on Australia's bowling line-up - it's one of the best in history. Starc is massively undersold, and having Boland coming off the bench is an absolute luxury.

Carl Hooper this morning said that the issue with test Cricket in the WI is more to do with the good players wanting to play the white ball. He said the bigger issue is school cricket is no longer a thing. When he was growing up inter school cricket was a fiercely fought comp, but it no longer exists. He also said there is no money put into cricket to get decent comps, training, etc going.

Sadly, I doubt there will be another tour of the Windies for a very long time.

Spot on, we have been a successful side largely because the quality of our bowling.
How much longer we can continue to ride this outstanding group achievements is probably the question in front of us now.

As a side note, it's a shame Boland isn't 5 years younger because he should have played a lot more tests than he has.

Quickest to 5 wickets, just 15 deliveries.
