You'd have to think about Wade replacing Carey for the World Cup at this rate.

Is Carey an opener in ODI?

Finch also needs to be looked at.

        Re: ODI Squad January 2019

How do you think we performed in the series outside of the fact we lost?
There were a few poitives from my perspective

I was disappointed with Maxwells dismissal in the final game as he had plenty of iver to post a good score for us but he didn't appear to adjust his approach. Other than that he was good through the series. Shaun Marsh also performed well and you can add Handscomb to that as well.
The bowlers did OK against a quality opposition and they would have learned a lot.

Finch struggled and there must be a question mark on his future.

I thought the two games we lost we were competitive, but the bowling let us down. We allowed the Indians a couple of big overs which were crucial in a tight finish, despite the Indians cruising along. In the end we just couldn't get Dhoni out and he was the difference.

Batting wise we have it all wrong. Carey is not a opener and Finch is in trouble unless he ca quickly find some form at domestic level. Maxwell should be batting higher and I can't see why he can't bowl a few more overs.

Bowling, we we did miss a couple of the test players, Siddle is passed it, Stoinis was loose at times and Lyon didn't play well at all.

I think you are a bit harsh on Carey as an opener. I'd be happy enough to giving him an extended trail and partner him with Short.

            Khawaja was disappointing.

What a great win in the 4th ODI, chasing down 358 after Finch went for a duck. Ashton Turner brilliant in the end with 84 not out and supported by Ussi 91, Handscomb 117. Around 70 runs off the last 5 overs.

              Series now 2 all

I think we can clinch the series. Should have won the 2nd ODI, threw it away.

Turner and Handscomb have both made World Cup selections that much harder. Carey and S Marsh may find themselves on the wrong side of the 15

Finch surely is under pressure even though he is captain. No team can afford to have such an out of form opener.

i agree, although he made a century in the 3 rd ODI

They we’re both brilliant. Not sure if you watched but Turner was hitting the ball every where especially in the last 5 overs. Not sure how Marsh got on the tour.

You have to look at Marsh as well ... in his two innings, he's scored less than EXTRAS have; and run out Maxwell. I'd bring in Stoinis for Marsh.

Probably because his ODI form has been outstanding prior to this series. Since he returned to the team mid last year he's made 4 centuries! I'm not sure how he could possibly have been left out.
