Surely we have a few fans?

- Who do you follow in the NBA and why?

- Who are your favourite players?

- Who do you follow in the NBA and why?

I don't really have 'one' team. This may change in the coming years, but I like the LA Lakers because my cousin as young kid always had their jerseys. I also like how it's such a dominating fan base even in away games. From a playing perspective, I'm an LBJ and AD fan.

Philadelphia 76ers are an interesting team. The whole Simmons and Embiid dynamic is weird - seem to play better separate, both supremely talented, could be anything. Embiid's a polarising character but I find him entertaining. The team hasn't had success for a long while, they're a loud and proud bunch and they were RWB - what's not to like?

I like watching the New Orleans Pelicans play. Young, exciting, fast ball movement and a team that has had limited success (remind you of anyone?). Hard not to get excited about Zion's potential and I enjoy the overall 'feel' of watching their broadcast.

- Who are my favourite players?

LBJ and AD have formed a great partnership and I was excited to see how they'd pair. Zion's a key watch for me too given his freakish power and agility for his size.

Others I enjoy watching are Embiid and Lillard. Though far from the best, I like Howard and Kuzma (Lakers) and Holiday (Pelicans).

- What are your thoughts on the proposed re-start of the season?

Hoping things kick off in July but I'm yet to be convinced it goes ahead. Well, maybe it goes ahead, but how compromised will it be? Reaidng about player unrest is certainly understandable but if there's star players kicking their feet up at home, it's not going to be as enjoyable.

Kyrie has been pretty vocal in the last week about it so it'll be interesting to see how many follow suit, or if it's more of a "how will you support BLM" before they commit to playing. I can understand both sides of the coin - those not wanting to risk their health (COVID) / those believing the civil rights are a more important issue right now, but I also see merit in the NBA finishing their season from a financial perspective as well as it providing a strong platform to evoke change. I don't agree that running the season suppresses the movement - it can be used to strengthen it.

Who do you follow in the NBA and why?
San Antonio Spurs. Started following them at the end of the 2004 season. Prior to that, as a young kid, I was a massive Jordan and Pippen Bulls fan. But I was a naïve and shallow kid back then. Huge fan of Tim Duncan and coach Pop. Love the way they are an under the radar team/off broadway team, speak quietly but have had enormous success. I hate the big flashy teams in US sports

What are your thoughts on the proposed re-start of the season?
Of course, I want the NBA back as I miss it. But I don’t like the format. I love the format the NHL proposed and was hoping the NBA would follow suit. But alas, some basketball is better than nothing so I’m all for it

Seattle Supersonics, once they left I really haven't followed a team. I loved watching the Raptors last season and surprisingly I've enjoyed watching them more this season. A quality organisation from top to bottom, well coached, well managed and work as 1. The play a team game in a league that pushes super teams down everyone's throat.

- Who are your favourite players?

Currently? Tough one, I really can't stand many of the modern day players. Durant tops the list, love that guy, always will. Lillard for waving off OKC last playoffs jumped up my list, hope he stays with it in Portland. Siakim is another who I've enjoyed watching grow from season to season. Humble and hard working, doesn't crave the spotlight like these other clowns and seems like a quality individual.

All time? Kemp and Payton. Nate McMillan was also a big fav of mine. My son is named after him, well kind of. Hakeem the Dream. Jordan like most people who grew up in that era. Ray Allen, Reggie Evans (My only NBA signature). Nash I could have watched every day when he played. I could keep listing Sonic players here. Hehe

- What are your thoughts on the proposed re-start of the season?

Much like the restart to the AFL. Meh. It'll be like watching preseason with a bit more flair.

- Who do you follow in the NBA and why?

I follow the 76ers. Growing up I was massively into Jordan and the Bulls. Had all the doc videos, posters, caps etc. But post the Jordan years they became impossible to follow, as every time they got a good player or two - they'd trade them out soon after. So I made the call to follow the 76ers when Brett Brown and Embiid got there - red, white and blue colours helps - and then Simmons was drafted so i'm all in.


- Who are your favourite players?

Of all time....Jordan, Reggie Miller, the Shaq, and liked Steve Nash.
Now Simmons & Embiid, and also like Chris Paul.

- What are your thoughts on the proposed re-start of the season?

To be honest....I've been too busy to get fully across it yet.

Will follow the Sonics once they're re-admitted to the league (and I'm confident they will be)
In the meantime, I'm following Ben Simmons' career pretty close and have a soft spot for the 76ers. Can't see them really challenging with the mess their starting five is in.

Jordan easy my favourite player - every time I've watched LeBron & Durant I'm amazed at guys their size that play the way they do.
I almost find the splash brothers disrespectful with the threes they jack up and land. It's ridiculous, I'm not sure the world will see shooting like Curry & Thompson ever again.

Not across the re-start, but it's obvious it's given someone like Simmons a chance to get fully fit.

Its crazy to think that these guys are taller than the average AFL ruckman. Just compare the athleticism of NBA players compared to AFL ruckmen. Incredible

Timmy English is as athletic as AFL ruckman come and he would get destroyed by your average 200cm+ NBA player, let alone the top stars.

I see Brett Brown has been sacked from being the coach of the 76's.

I wonder if this will impact his Boomers duties if he is doing interviews with other teams. They might not be as happy for him to have that distraction

Feel for Brown, but felt inevitable. The sixers seem well out of step with what most NBA sides are doing in terms of game style. Didn't help him that the team had Embiid frequently injured and Simmons missing much of the season.

Heat v Lakers Finals coming up.

LBJ has been leading from the front with A.D prominent too. Heat have been in great form but this is a big challenge.

Hope the Heat win. They’ve got the elements needed to take down the Lakers. It won’t be easy but contesting the Lakers’ 3 pointer attempts will go a long way as Bam should do an effective job guarding Davis and Butler on James. The Heat don’t have much of a weakness so they’re in with a shot. Ultimately it’ll come down to Lebrons influence. If he wants to takeover he’s pretty much unstoppable.

It's astonishing.

Unfortunately he has only won 3 of 9. But sheer consistency to reach the NBA finals that often is nuts.
