    Club "football" transfer season

Fu***n love transfer seasons, always have, for all sports! Just makes a good time to reassess your team, pick out your needs but more importantly your wants, and watch and wait to see what you manager conjurs up. This transfer season has already promised many great transfers, with the big one IMO being Luka Modric to Tottenham so far (Being a bias Croatian ).

Being a Liverpool supporter (along with TCD) I really want to see David Silva OR David Villa come in, as that will compete atleast ONE major signing which we desperately need to challenge and complement Gerrard and Torres. Looks as if Gareth Barry might come to us which in my opinion isn't the best option because we should really focus on wingman (such as Silva, impressive in Euro for Spain). Also we have signed Dossena which is a full-back which we need and it seems as if he will break into the starting 11 straight away, a good signing. We also signed Degen, that Swiss international, also a full back.

With the sales of Peter Crouch and John Arne Riise, I'm looking forward to us competing more vigorously for big players this time around, rather than signing 2nd rate players and claiming we will challenge for the title. Also hope to sell Pennant, Voronin, and maybe Xabi Alonso if we bring in Barry so we can gain funds for either Silva or Villa.

Anyway enough of Liverpool, what may your club look for and who are some of the big name transfers at the ready?

Crouch going to Pompey, cant believe Liverpool got rid of him, nice to have a tall bloke to head the ball in ,and no one can get that high!, Not too bad on the ground either considering.
    Go Pompey!

It's not a case of getting rid of him. He is in the last year of a contract. When that contract expires he can go anywhere for free. By selling him now, Liverpool are 11 million ponds better off.

Who do you think we should make a play for Barry?

I think Liverpool need a tall forward, maybe Fev or Hall.

QPR have put in an offer on Real Madrid (and ex-Spanish international) defender Michel Salgado - apparently he is quite interested - why you would want to move from the La Liga to the Championship is anyone's guess (must see the R's as his superannuation fund).

Sure that no one follows the French league but PSG seem to be trying to put together a team of French champs of yesteryear. Signed Lillian Thuram who turned out to have a heart complaint that means he may never play again. Then in recent days have signed Claude Makelele and Ludovic Giuly. They keep going like this and they'll win the 1998 world cup (yes i know Giuly wasn't there).

Liverpool have completed the signing of Spurs striker Robbie Keane overnight.

                    On a 4 year deal.

Isn't he about 50 years old?

28 and paid 19m for him which is way too much.

They probably could have gotten Villa for about 3 million more.

Hope we sign that David Silva kid from Valencia (Spanish International). A real gun winger which would complete our side and make our case for a PL title.
