The traditional Gabba green top photos are out and about! Looking forward to tomorrow, feels like we're into the cricketing main course.

Look out for Marco Jansen if you haven't seen him play - he's only 22, a massive bean-pole left arm quick who will spray it around a bit but finds genuine swing. He could go at 5 an over or take 5fa.

Also excited to see Nortje on our wickets. He's proper quick and nasty. Think they'll use him to target Smith I reckon.

Adam Collins talked him up as well. 6 foot 8 in the old?

And just nuts. I hope the kids are proud of their old man and they rise above.

He looks and bowls like Brendan Julian but with a much more consistent line and length. So actually he bowls nothing like BJ...

Rare to see a pitch so green. Wise decision to bowl first

I would have batted because it will flatten out after lunch but I think we were concerned with facing their attack.
The pitch will be harder on the batsman after lunch on day 2.

The bowlers are all over the place think they're over excited by the green top.

No way do you bat on a green top at the GABBA for your opposition's first session of Test cricket in the country.
                              TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Good counter attack from South Africa, really good game of cricket. Australia been way too short - think it's time to get Lyon into the attack.
