Happened 30 years ago this week.

Went to a dinner in Singapore (1997) where Gatting was one of three English cricketers who were the key speakers and he spoke about that famous ball.

The Oval will suit Boland more than it suits Nesser so not unhappy about that selecton. Nesser will play - Headingly, Old Trafford are made for him. If there is a bowler I am not completely sold on playing every test its Starc, Small english grounds, slow wickets, he will struggle once the ball is 20 or so overs old.

I am going to day 2 of the WTC, so looking forward to it!

Nice. I will be at the Oval for the 5th test.

I don't think any of the fast bowlers will play every test given there are 6 to get through. Although bazball may help reduce the bowlers workloads.

Have a great time, Fredi and Axe. Loved my experiences watching cricket in the UK, so am very jealous.

Big advantage that we'll get a proper run ahead of the Ashes. I'm looking forward to seeing Boland with the Duke. I've been pretty down on him in English conditions, and would've had Neser ahead of him in the pecking order, but I'm really intrigued to see whether he can get the ball to hoop and prove me wrong.

Also looking forward to seeing a more confident Cam Green. He was dominant in the IPL and it started to feel like he was growing into his talent, so I hope he carries that into the longer forms.

So Khawaja gone, in a very very very typical fashion to his other dismissals in England.

Getting off to good starts is going to be so important for us in England so this was a disappointing to start to the English series.

As much as I want us to win this match, I am more interested in us getting some proper time in the middle and ironing out the kinks ahead of Edgbaston

                          Fantastic session.

Need to consolidate in the first twenty or thirty of the next and then let rip a little to make up some runs. Reckon the pitch won't give much away in the last five sessions.
