Terrific win by NZ over England last night getting home with losing just one wicket and with 14 overs to spare.
I watched a bit of it and Conway and Ravindra dominated with the bat.
England had a few players get off to starts but they couldn't go on with it but I never expected a score of 283 to be chased down so easily.

I thought England were pretty lucky to get 283 - Latham managed his bowlers beautifully. Conway is an excellent player, it's a shame he didn't get his start in international cricket so much sooner.

I'm not sure how you felt about it GVG, but I thought it was a pretty lackluster way to start a major tournament. I understand it's a Thursday fixture, but I think Australia v India in a packed stadium would've been a more fitting way to kick it off.

I was impressed with the way NZ handled all aspects of the game and I agree it was a shame the starter wasn't done to a packed stadium.

I was at the Farewell the English team lunch at Lords last week. Compared by David Gower (very good compare) and hosted by the Charity, Professional Cricketers Association. Lots of chat at the table and in the room about how England were confident about retaining the World Cup. Maybe too much beer and wine at the lunch.....and hyperbole!

South Africa put in a powerful batting performance to beat Sri Lanka
5 for 428 vs all out for 326.

3 batters for SA scored centuries

In the other game Bangladesh won easily against Afghanistan by 6 wickets.

India on top of Australia at the moment, they've held us to 2/77 from the first 19 overs. The wicket is taking turn and India has Ashwin, Yadav and Jadeja in their arsenal.

The positive for Australia is Smith is in and set. I think he'll need to make a ton if Australia is going to be a chance.

Green is over rated . Doesn’t perform at a consistent level . Kind of Cricketer that if you give him 5 goes he might perform in one and that seems to be enough to rave about him.
                            Maxwell is a 20/20 player.
Carey is a test player .
Seem to have a mix of players of different formats and trying to form a team.
