I know we have the tipping thread already, but I thought a seperate thread for general discussion would be good.
What did the Liverpool contingent on here think of the game overnight against Villa?
Rafa was pretty defensive, with Keane playing wide left to stack the midfield. Also, with no Gerrard, and Torres going off early, Liverpool were robbed of the two guys most likely to turn the game with a moment of brilliance. The way they set up suggests they were happy enough to come and get a point at Villa Park, which probably says a bit about where they see themselves. I think Villa are worthy of a fair bit of respect from the top sides, but you can bet that United Chelsea and Arsenal won't be coming to Villa Park thinking about getting just a point.
As a Villa fan, it was a bit disappointing that we didn't get forward with much enthusiasm until late in the game. MON made two relatively attacking substitutions, and by then Rafa had opened it up a little as well, but i think the change was mostly due increased urgency from Villa.
Despite the commentators reaction once he saw the replay, i didn't think Keane should have got a penalty. I thought the contact was incidental, and mostly after the shot. Perhaps an indirect freekick, at best.
