Glad to see Australia didn't need any excuses.

Was disappointed with the way Ponting went at those last 10 or so overs. So many bowlers got given 1 over and then changed and then swapped to the other end. None of them could really get into a rhythm.

The two dropped catches [Ronald & Haydos] were pretty ordinary, especially Hayden in slips, he should eat those up, the Aussies again seemed to have taken the foot off the pedal, and just let things go through the motions, and let Sth Africa NEALLY hang on.

Once Smith came out to bat [sensational effort, i know what its like to bat with a broken bone, not much fun], i thought they were going to hold off, fortunatly Mitch finally got one straight, and bam, all over, great match, great series.

After watching the series, a few thoughts:

Siddle is just going to keep improving, has some mongrel, has only played a handful of first class matches, so in that case, has a big upside, definatly has a future in the Aussie line up.

Too early to call on MacDonald & Bollinger, although i'd take Bollinger over to England.

Hayden is done, I'd roll the dice and bring in Hughes.

I couldn't work out why there was a fine leg when Graeme Smith was batting. It wasn't like he was going to play a hook shot.

Too early to call for mine, didn't see enough of him batting, was kind of pedestrian like with the ball, although one of the commentators said that he reminded them of Hansie Cronje, and if he can get anywhere near as good as Hansie was, he'd definatly have a future at that level.

Edit, i was suprised he came in before Haddin though, so the selectors / captain must rate him quite highly as a batsman.

I think he does. He's got that priceless ability to make things happen.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

                Like the 2nd last wicket.
