Hughes on the other hand has:

    12 scores over 50 plus 4 0ver 100 with a highet score of 198
8 scores under 10 (his first five innings for the season totalled 24 then he teed off)

The selectors' attitude towards Hughes would have seen the careers of Harvey and Walters etc held back for years
When it written like that, you just have to wonder what the F*** these knobs are doing with the future of a sport loved by millions that generates 100s of millions of dollars annually.

You don't get back to number 1 in the world by rewarding medocrity and promoting players without form. Imagine Glenn McGrath waiting until 30 to play, i remember the game where he announced himself and was on (did he get?) the hatric bowling yorkers to QLD batsmen. Those selectors saw enough to blood him and what a great decision. Hughes has been spectacular yet a 30yo with no form gets in while Hughes ain't even in the squad.

Siddle has 2/6 from 3 overs so far. Maybe he could play in one match ahead of say Hilfenhaus who may not be suited to the one day game.

I think Siddle should be in the side as the stopper, we are going in with 2 strike bowlers but they are not tight, Siddle and Bracken are tight and can keep the runs down and put more pressure on the batsman to push runs at the other end.

He may have the ability to do both, but that is somewhat wishful thinking

A will give you one change that is a must.

Warner out, not good enough at this stage of his career.

Callum Ferguson looks the goods, elegant batsmen, fantastic timer of the ball, good footwork and is very wristy. One to watch for higher honours. Im not sure how he plays spin though, seemed to struggle against Vettori a bit.

Agreed, has done very well so far in limited opportunities. Shame he caught a bad LBW decision, because he was really looking good yesterday.

I hope he can push on for a Test spot in the future.

It fells like the selectors have handled Ferguson better than others by picking him when in form instead of doing what they normally do and rewarding the it player of the month, from 6 month ago.

With the team performing better now there may not be any changes but i think Hilfenhaus may make way for Siddle and White may go for i don't care who. Just as long as there's no option to bowl him I'll be happy.

Otherwise the team, bar Ponting, is performing much better these last two games

I thought Ferguson was a bit of a bolter in the limited over side but the selectors appear to have made the right choice here.

Fianlly Dave Hussey shows what he can do. The selectors have been very patient with him this series (which they'd done it years ago). Esp. after running out Haddin he had to make a decent dig.

Nah mate, yesterdays game was D Hussey. Turned blind and took off only to leave Haddin stranded.

What's up with Haddin's glovework? A bit suss?

ps. D. Huss was always going to come good -- if we can leave players in the team for a year and a half to find form, we can give them 3 one-dayers.

I'm glad he had a decent knock because everyone knows the talents he's got. Haddins glovework is average at best. Considering he's an experienced cricketer it's a little alarming. Problem is that i don't think a refined keeper is what today's cricket world needs. Look at a majority of the current keepers in world sides. Majority are specialist batsmen. The last specialist keeper we'll see int eh G&Gold is Healy. There's no need anymore.
