Lee got clobbered the other night and has a history of getting clobbered, he isn't exactly the tightest of bowlers going around, please don't take this as me bashing Lee, far from it, i just don't think he is suited to the shorter form of the game.

He bowled well this morning, yet let himself down again bowling wides & loose deliveries when he should have fired off a few yorkers, he did the hard work, got 2 vital wickets yet [one from a good slow bouncer] but then let it slip.

      Bowling averages

      Tests 30.81
      ODI 22.95
      T20I 28.18
      - I believe that includes the last two games as well

I think that pretty much says it all.

Now can anyone tell me if Brett is swinging the ball anymore? If he's not swinging it he's useless as he's lost his pace.

I don't think those figures mean a whole lot when you take into account the amount of wickets that fall in the shorter versions of the game. Below are Lee's strike rates in the different version of the game:

        Test: 53.3
        OD: 29.2
        T20: 21.8

We need a specialist Twenty 20 team, which could mean, no Ponting, no Clark and no Hussey, no Lee. Warner is a prime example of the type of player we need. For the life of me, why Hodge wasn't inlcuded I don't know. Its time for the selectors to wipe the board clean and start again.

Three forms of the game, three different skill sets required, three seperate teams.

(Or, even better, scrap boring ODI's and only have two different games)

He is without a doubt one of the best openers in the world at T20 cricket. His record in Australian domestic, IPL & English county T20 reads extremely well and he should have been in the first 3 selected for this tournament.

How Hodge isn't in that side is beyond me, he is by far Australia's most in form 20/20 batsmen right now, along with Gilly & Haydos, bring in those 3, take out Ponting for a start, also swap Nannes for Brett Lee, and i have no doubt that we would have given the comp a massive shake.

Unfortunatly Hayden & Gilly are retired from International cricket, Hodge has never been in favour and Nannes had to play for another country.

We simply didn't go into the comp with our BEST 20/20 side, which to me says, thats we took it as a bit of a "Mickey Mouse" hit out.

He should still be eligible for Aus since England got that Danish guy to play a test for them

I was hoping for the Australians to fail miserably because the selectors deserve to look like prats.

As long as they play blokes in the side who have no right to be there, i will wish them to fail.

Wasn't too much interest in that series (apart from the abandoned test) so I doubt too many would have.
