In Australia and America it has been called soccer for ages and I could care less if people call it soccer but you really do sound silly disagreeing with that statement.Comment

Firstly when peopel talk crap, they deserve to be told, only 2 here doing that.
Secondly I don't doubt the origin of the word soccer is in England since the language is English and the game originated there. However no one in England calls the game soccer, its called football like everywhere in the world. The US have almost always been calling it soccer because they have their own version of football. It certainly doesn't mean that the game of association football isn't football over there too. Australia has adopted the name from the US not England.Comment
