The Poms aren't going to be too happy (as we weren't a while back) as both Strauss & Bell were out of deliveries that should have been called no-balls.

Very even days play. Aussie quicks struggled early....actually thought they bowled poorly....a bad line and not to their field. This allowed the POMS to get off to a cracking start. Johnson may have finished with few wickets late, but he really bowled poorly and Punter didn't help. Thought but for Clark the POMS would really have flayed the attack. Good fightback though. Reckon the test as a few twists left in it.

Set up perfectly for another close test match.

Most of the time in cricket you get one back.
Bell was out caught early in his innings off the wrist band of the glove and not given.

Even using the 'super slow-mo' technology you couldn't tell definitively if the ball flicked the wrist band of the glove or just hit the bare skin.

There is no way in the world this should have been given out.

Fair enough. My point being Bell rode his luck early.

The batsman must be given the benefit of the doubt, I thought it was a good decision, or the only decision the umpire could have made.

Really?? But he's only the fourth-best quick and lucky to be in the team according to that great legal mind Hilditch!

Would have been an extremely hard decision to make for the central umpire, he could never really be 100% where the ball hit, he really would have been guessing, meaning not out.

As for the replay, i have no doubt the ball struck the wrist band section of the glove, i can't believe the commentators were in doubt, had it been referred to a 3rd umpire, i can't see how he would have been given not out.

Well he's not ahead of Siddle or Hilfenhaus based on this tour's form and we've all seen how destructive Johnson is even if he's not had a great series.

                        That's my opinion.

                          Australia were 0/73 & are now 3/89.

Broad has all 3 wickets to fall.

Just about to post the same. Hussey just can't get the runs when we need them.
