Sorry you must have a short memory. If Warne got 12 months for being a drug cheat then 12 months for biting the ball is very harsh.

I think people have to remember that the reason Afridi was handed a 2 match ban was because of his admition to ball tampering, similar to the AFL's tribunal the penalty is reduced.

He didn't hide the fact he was biting [tampering] with the ball, was a clear case of where copping a reduced penalty can be a bit if a farce at times, a bit like Bazza admitting to whack Staker.

I wonder if he had tried to hide it somehow and not be so open with trying to tamper with the ball being in full view of the umps, all cameras etc etc he may have copped a bigger penalty?

The fact that he has priors, not just ball tampering, but trying to scuff up the pitch v England that time by twisting his spikes around etc etc, just shows what a joke the penalty was, i mean, 2 20/20 games....big whoop, the likes of Johnson, Watson etc just rested for a few games, so a 2 game ban is bugger all.
