    20/20 World Cup

Bit surprised this hasn't got a thread yet, although I guess with footy underway the cricket does take a back seat.

We lost our first practice game, and now Brett Lee has broken down (and surely, this is his last attempt at a come back).

Reasonably tough group, and not sure what our chances are of progressing, although we've certainly improved our record in 20/20 fixtures over the past year.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

I lost what little interest I had when Brett Lee was named in the original squad.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

      Bleh.

I couldn't give a stuff what the Australian Bricket Team are up to. I see they've included D.Huss in the squad, but don't think he's worthy of a ACB contract, while a few others have been given one for apparently looking likely. Oh, and apparently all our hopes were resting on Brett Lee. God help us.

I used to think Australian cricket was about substance and reward for performance. Now it's just a fashion show, and a confused and unprofessional one at that. Let us languish in mid-table for the next decade while we fark around.

Wow Lantern - you summed up my thoughts exactly! Glad I'm not the only one that thinks like that.

While Australia pick Ponting's mates rather than the best players to play for Australia, we will never be the best in the world. And if Clarke takes over the captaincy, God knows how many matches he will pull out of to deal with his personal life!

T20 cricket is just a hit and giggle. Should be nothing more than a series starter and finisher to pull in the gates. It doesn't need its own WC.

I certainly think it was right to put his personal life in front of cricket, You wouldnt if your wife to be was doing things like that?

Am I a prick for being happy that he got injured and had to pull out of the World Cup?

Good effort by the Aussies(with some help from the Pakis's and their crap fielding) to finish at 191 batting first(this included a 5 wicket maiden in the last over). Watson made a 80 odd and D.Hussey 50(with 4 6's in an over).

He's one of the cleanest hitters in world cricket, probably the first picked in T20, yet he's not good enough for a Cricket Australia contract?

                    Weird.

Yep. Hodge is one of the best T20 players going around and isn't even in the squad. Oh and Brett Lee has a CA contract.

Surely one of the criteria for securing a CA contract is being able to bowl a ball without your arm falling off.

I thought being from NSW was the criteria.

Which makes it even more surprising that Warner doesn't have one.

Wow, what a victory. An amazing innings by M.Hussey(60 off 24 balls) to see the Aussies into the final against the Poms. He hit three 6's and a 4 in the last over to overhaul the Paki's huge total of 191. Mr Cricket is awesome.
