Lemmon, the standard of the Australian cricket side has been slipping for a few years now and we have gone from a dominant side to a team struggling to put in good performances let alone winning ones so obviously people are getting frustrated especially heading into a series against England.
On top of that, there hasn't been too many encouraging performances in the last few days by our test probables and possibles.

I'm not sure why you find it hard to fathom why people are frustrated with the performances of the side let alone the selections of it.

Something which I acknowledge, frustration is understandable and warranted but the extent to which it has bubbled over resulting in the derailment of threads and stark hyperbole has been to the detriment of this board.

Back on topic though as Im now the one derailing this thread, the pitch seems to have flattened right out in Hobart, no excuses for Khawja/Ferguson and a good score from either along with anything less the a half century from Hussey is probably the last straw for the selectors. Will be a great track to bat on heading into tomorrow and day 4.

Is it OK if I just hate them because?

Lemmon I hate Australia anyway being a pom and long suffering at that, but I will always follow Victorians and hope they do well.

Think my hatred is twofold the lack of respect the selectors have in Victorians and being a pom.
The selectors deserve all they get for having no forward thinking and playing old favourites.

Ponting couldnt captain an under 12s side and has been carried by the likes of the retired superstars, now they are gone his captaincy shows its real uselessness.

I personally hope I am going to enjoy this series, its been a long time since we have won in Australia, also think its good for the game as Australia were that dominant people were getting bored of it.

Bloody Khawaja, out first ball. I was looking forward to see him bat.

At least White got a century. Getting one against England when everyone else (bar Hughes) failed must make up for his poor form.

edit: forgot he wasn't in the squad...

Why would he be in the squad? It's not like he has better leadership skills than the current pair, been captain of the most dominant domestic side of recent times for nearly a decade, captains the Australia A side, or is a better batsman than two of the current incumbents? But he doesn't even get named in an extended squad of 17?
