    God no. Manifestly excessive.

Cantebury got caught as well and got a fraction of the penalty Melbourne did.

As an only casual rugby fan, it seemed to me that the Storm cheated, got caught and were penalised for it.

Is there more to it than that for you (and others) to feel that the Storm were hard done by? What should the penalty have been in your opinion?

I reiterate that I'm not antagonising, more that I don't know much about it and am curious.

All that aside, I'm happy for Suz and you guys that are passionate about them that the Storm won. Something positive out of a crappy AFL year for us.
My issue with David Gallop is that he had no desire for the Storm to participate in the NRL and did everything in his power to undermine the club's role in the competition. The Storm's penalty was extraordinarily excessive, and Gallop later admitted he was using creative license when he said that the Storm were running 'Two sets of books'.

As for Hartigan, he's the Sydney-Centric fool who was in charge of News Ltd, who own the Storm (and the NRL for that matter), who got on the front foot when the story broke and basically heaped all of the blame on anyone who didn't work with News Ltd. All of a sudden the 2 News Ltd Reps on the board were blameless, and when the independent members of the board mooted a legal challenge to the penalty, they were summarily dismissed by Hartigan. I refuse to believe to this day that News Ltd knew nothing of the practices that were going on.

As for Hadley, he's simply and anti-Storm numpty who gleefully declared that the salary cap scandal would be the death of the club. Guess what Ray, they're still there and they've got the trophy back, where it belongs.

Re: National Rugby League - 2012

Wow, what a fantastic win by Storm. Still on such a high, absolutely sobbed when the siren went. Was well worth the road trip to Sydney. Those 80 minutes couldn't go quickly enough though, was a bundle of nerves. With one minute to go (knowing the Bulldogs could not score twice in that time) was the best feeling ever. We were very outnumbered but very vocal. Cam Smith said at the after party that as they were packing a scrum with about 3 minutes to go all they could hear was us all chanting "MELBOURNE! MELBOURNE!" He said to the blokes in the scrum "Hear that? That's what we play for" (or something like that) Watched the game when we got home last night and loved every minute (apart from Cam's bad kicking!!) GO STORM!!

What a magnificent effort by The Storm.
Always good signs when you win games not playing for comp points.
Great culture, great coaching, sledge to the Sydney insular xenophobic media and sports fan. What a pack of sad sacks they are
          Craig Bellamy pure genius

That is where I am upset too westdog 54. Yes, we were cheating & got caught but I think we were denied 'due process'. It would be nice to know what REALLY happened. Anyway, they cannot take my memories of 2007 & 2009, we were there, we have the dvds and the memorabilia. GO STORM!!

              Have you stopped celebrating yet?

Apparently TV audience in melbourne was over 1 million, that is more than the AFL viewing in Sydney for the GF.

Still on cloud 9 bornadog!! Got to work this morning to find a Mark Knight premiership poster on my desk. Watched the channel 9 telecast when we arrived home on Monday and then watched the Foxtel one last night. Can't get enough of it!! Trust me, a premiership is an awesome feeling, I hope us Bulldogs supporters get to experience one sooner rather than later.

Suz - so good to read you were up there on Sunday! Was watching at home on the edge of my seat. What was going wrong with Captain Fantastic - did he have the wrong boots on you think? Anyway, I'm a happy girl as well this week, and I can only imagine what it might feel like when the doggies win a premiership.......oh sigh! PS had to laugh, I also turned over to Fox and watched the game again on Sunday night! LOL!

Nothing wrong with that!! The Foxtel commentary was much more bearable & unbiased than the channel 9 commentary, but that's nothing new.

We were discussing Cam's kicking & seem to think the ball is sitting lower (ie. not on as much of an angle) on the tee as it used to. I think he needs to go back to what works.

Thanks . Being from Sydney the Storm aren't the most loved team but I'm sure there would have been a number of RL supporters who love nothing better than to see the Dogs lose.

I have followed RL since about 1977 and have to say that the Storm's first half was the best half of football in a Grand Final that I have seen. They were clinical and brillant. Cameron Smith is also (along with Wally Lewis) the best footballer I have seen (not the most brillant) - more in terms of being about to read and control a game.

                      Well done to the Storm.

James Graham, the thug, gets 12 weeks for the ear biting incident. The suspension is in line with other similar incidents in recent history.

Can't believe Canterbury thought he was innocent and that they were disappointed with the outcome. Looked pretty obvious to the naked eye what happened.

Haven't Cantebury had their arses handed to them this week!

Inciting a confrontation in mock toughness, only to result in a biting charge that netted a twelve week suspsension.

                          Obviously losing the GF.

Street thuggery as a reaction to the loss.

Poor media coverage associated with derogatory comments to women.

                          What's next?

Well done Storm, well done indeed.
                          TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Unfortunately in the media it's detracted from Storms great win. Oh well, I'll just have to watch the game again, and again, and again......
