Add dressage, beach volleyball, bmx, rhythmic gymnastics, tennis, etc.
Pretty sure it was a joke. But yeah, all those you mentioned should not be in the Olympics.

Why is there no men's synchronised swimming I wonder?
Its well known we can't do two things at once.
How many of us would drown, trying to swim and dance at the same time.

          My apologies KT.
Anyone interested in athletes vs selectors debate.
If you listen to SEN, they are very pro athletes.
I don't see a problem if selectors just want elite athletes. Spending tax payer money and the aths think it's their right to go even if they are no chance rather than a privilege.

Also the Liesel Jones debate She looks overweight. I hope she proves me wrong but with that body shape you can't be serious about doing your best.

Maybe it the media pushing these gutter stories?

No doubt, I understand the Herald Sun running with it, but I can't believe the AGE ran with it also.
From reports she is still swimming olympic qual times, so surely she deserves to be there?

Our athletes of late have not done themselves any favours either with the amount of complaining they are doing.

Didn't watch the opening ceremony but for people who did I'm guessing London put on a very good show.

How fantastic was the musical offering during the opening ceremony? Great to hear Led Zep, Stones, The Jam, Floyd, Sex Pistols, The Beatles, etc.. celebrated in style. Even the Arctics got a run and did a stellar job. What tripe did we serve up 12 years ago in comparison? Vanessa Amorossi and Tina Arena and no AC/DC

Please, she's not in peak shape and she should be just like any athlete showing up to the games (unless coming back from injury or illness).

Unless I'm mistaken, the tax payer has sent her to the games, the tax payer has put her through the AIS (she won't have to pay any of that back mind you, unlike those that go to university on HELP/HECS) and the tax payer has every right to expect her to show up in the best condition she possibly can. I don't think she's done the best she can.

The standard of commentary around the situation has been ordinary, though I think it's fair enough that people ask question of her fitness and commitment.
                    TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Paul McCartney sounds alright, but he looks ridiculous after all the work he's had done. He looks about 16. And he was never a ranga either.

EDIT: I watched the Opening Ceremony today and he was dreadful.

China are the first country to get a gold medal in the shooting.

Gathering from some of the comments so far, noone will have tuned into the Equestrian coverage. However, I have to say (and this is my particular sense of humour), the commentary team of someone called Lucinda Green, and Dwayne Russell is surreal and hilarious.

How's Cavendish complaining that the Australians conspired against him?
We had a man in the breakaway!
We should have helped the chase so he could win gold!

There has some brilliant results so why does something like someone complaining appeal to you enough to post about it?
