375 in the 3rd innings of a game is still a big score... If we had knocked them over for 100 less we would have won.

Why should he have been out stumped?

Both the officiating & 3rd umpire gave him not out.

You cannot possibly say that there was no doubt whatsoever that it was out. I couldn't be certain of it and the last time I got an eye test I was told not to come back for 3 years.

Agar's was a benefit of the doubt decision. Broad's was simply a howler.

That was completely inconclusive. Give it a spell!
Losing a clutter of wickets cost the Aussies.

and Trott's LBW was a howler. Decisions go for and against you every game. The constant whinging by the Australian media and public is really out of control.

                Trott's howler?

Other than the English commentary team (and obviously Aleem Dar MBE) I'm yet to find anyone who thought it was anything other than out. Hitting middle halfway up with nothing other than English hope to suggest he hit it.

For decisions to go for and against you they have to actually go both ways.

He was given not out and was overturned by a review system that didnt have hot spot available for what certainly looked to me like a ball that hit the bat. Not sure how that can be seen as not going our way.

You are actually the first person I have seen that has thought that this was a decision that didnt go our way.

To describe it as a howler is beyond exaggeration.

Couldn't agree more . Very responsible innings from Haddin, and lets hope it continues.
Very good knock from Hughes in the first dig that virtually went unnoticed.

It was overturned despite there being no evidence to actually overturn the decision. I call that a howler.

I thought there was a pretty decent inside edge on it.

Do the DRS guys only use hot spot now, not the actual footage?

That was part of the controversy. Hot spot wasnt available for that decision as the operator forgot to turn it back on or something silly like that.

England were furious over two decisions by the third umpire, Marais Erasmus, against Australia and the ICC later apologised

Trott had been given out lbw by the third umpire, Marais Erasmus, who overruled the original not-out decision of Aleem Dar even though the crucial Hot Spot angle was not available to determine whether the ball had hit bat before pad.

Brennan explained that the operator in question had not "triggered the system for the Trott delivery" because he was waiting to offer a replay of the previous ball from which Joe Root was given caught behind down the leg side. Root was left to regret his failure not to call for a review, as those replays showed no proof that he had edged Mitchell Starc's delivery.
