        Yep he has potential.

        Hopefully we have a couple of batsmen hit some good early form in the Sheffield Shield and knock on the door of selection

          Nice to have decent wickets for Shield games.

            Khawaja is a concern at no. 3. Does he retain his spot for the last test or does Phil Hughes come back in at no. 3 for his umpteenth chance.

            Our batting really is a concern as we have no depth. Is there anyone knocking on the door? Maxwell; Finch; the guy from Tasmania;
            That's really the problem, there is no one knocking down the door. Ten years ago we had half a dozen blokes not in the test team running around knocking up centuries and averaging 50, now we have a bunch of kids around the 35 average mark.

            Big turn around for Australian cricket.

              Disappointing isn't it. Why do you think this is the case? Is it just a cycle that we are currently going through (a bit like '84 to '88) or is it because the short form of the game is a more exciting proposition for the players where they can earn far more money than ever before.

              The shorter form of the game doesn't appear to have affected the English or South Africans as much. Maybe it is just a generational change that we are going through.

                If that's the case it begs the question why we're terrible at twenty/20 also. I don't buy the argument that keeps getting thrown up that we're sacrificing Test cricket for shorter forms of the game, Australia had won 3 consecutive World Cups while being the best team in the world. Our decline in Test cricket has been equally matched by our decline in ODI's, and our inability to ever produce decent results since the introduction of T20.

                This generation of cricketers are just overpaid, untalented, and overrated in their own little bubble, who continue to live off the reputations built by Australian players of a previous era.
