    Re: Holger sacked

Was in Paris at the game last night and fair to say it was embarrassing. Bresciano looks the only one even remotely capable when on the ball, the cattle are just that bad at the moment. Holger definitely deserves a fair portion of the blame, how Carney still starts I don't know and the decision to play Holland at right back and Wilkshire further up was mind blowing, especially with Ribery on the left. Starting to concede this world cup will be a write off. Nothing you can do with that cattle on the park at this late stage.

Wilkshire is and has been a poor excuse for a footballer.

Thank god we have qualified already! Makes you feel for a team like Scotland and Ireland who could only dream of getting a ride like ours!

The keeper is the least of our worries.
I agree that the keeper is not our biggest issue but an issue nonetheless. He needs to play to stay sharp no matter how many training sessions he has its not the same. I think its unfortunate that he made the decision to go to Chelsea. I can't blame him because it was made on the basis he wanted to stay in London for family reasons i believe & family always comes first. Its a shame whats in the best interests of Mark was & is not in the best interests of the national team.

It certainly is a balancing act between club football and international football but club football to most players is the bigger priority as internationals are played every so often during the year.

Fair enough mate. Mark should still play around 10-15 cup games by the end of the season.

Must be remembered that Mark didn't play in this game and against Brasil he really didn't set a foot wrong.

I feel sorry for him, the first Australian coach sacked for making the World Cup. Most champions retire after 32-33, ours are still playing at 36-37. It's time for some players to call it a day.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

And that's the reason he should have been sacked.
Someone had to make the call on the old players, players that have transferred to the lesser leagues ie Saudis, Qatar, etc and players not playing first team football.
The players themselves won't and Holger didn't.

Thats the reason the FFA should be sacked. They give the coach a mandate. They told Holger to make the World Cup. He did that.
