Australia vs England 5th Test - SCG

I see Doolan has been added to the squad. It looks like he might replace Bailey although Watson is injured as well.

With doubts on Harris, Faulkner and Coulter-Nile round out the 14 players

Heard on the news Doolan is a backup for Watson if he doesn't pull up, but they interviewed Watson and he said he should be fine.

Can't see a change being made outside Watson or Harris for injury, Bailey will hold his spot IMO.
If you kicked five goals and Tom Boyd kicked five goals, Tom Boyd kicked more goals than you.

Harris look at half rat power at times on the third day, should miss but seems intent on playing through hell or high water. Baileys place is dependent on Watson Id imagine, if Watson is fit the batting probably stays unchanged, if not Doolan is a specialist number 3 and Faulkner will take Baileys spot is the talk

Time to end the Bailey experiment, doesn't have the technique for the moving or bouncing ball

The wicket is doing a bit and seem 'dodgy' techniques are on show... again.

George Bailey is showing why he is no test player.. averaging just 22 from 7 hits.

On the plus side its a great test for a Smith, the test will always be the seaming ball so more time at it is great

Do we really have to revisit the debate why Hodge didn't play more tests?
More of an In Bruges guy?

                      No.

I just find it amazing how easily some players get given test matches over the years versus how hard some others have to work and how well they need to perform only to be rewarded with very limited opportunities.

Bailey will surely have to perform brilliantly in the second dig to hold his spot. He's simply not up to it and shouldn't be in the side. But we all to a man knew this before the series started.

Hodge wasn't a popular player with selectors.
The Aussies could afford to not play him due to the powerful line up.

I really take my hat off to Brad Haddin, I thought he should have never been picked again, but gee what a great Ashes series, with bat and keeping. He has been fantastic and has saved the innings time and time again.

He's played an outstanding role with his keeping and batting.
