After a stirring semi win over Geelong, the dogs meet the dons. The final is played over 3 days beginning tomorrow (Friday 28th March) at the Junction Oval.
The dogs have only ever won one flag which was in 1979/80 (after entering the comp in 1947). The bombers have won two and were an inaugural club when the competition begun in 1907/08.
Opposition bushrangers, John Hastings and Clint McKay featured in 'the two of us' in the Good Weekend (the Age) not long back. They are best mates and share a house. Should make for some interesting banter.
So not only is this a chance to rub shoulders with big Merv, Dodders etc, but you also may SEE A DOGS TEAM WIN A PREMIERSHIP!!!!! I know... like WOW.
My weekend is therefore as follows:
See the dogs beat the bombers;
See the dogs knock off the Kangas and
Watch Liverpool cream Spurs. Ok, i realise not everyone will be as excited about the last of these.
