Some of the old NSL teams: Preston Makedonia, South Melbourne Hellas, Melb. Knights, Marconi, Northern Spirit just to name a few. Gee that was a long time ago now. Quite a few of the old NSL teams play in the Victorian Premier League now.

That was my team. I can remember as a teenager being driven to the ground by my mate's dad. Talk about a white knuckle ride. He would spend the entire journey driving the car with his head turned talking to us in the back seat just missing cars in front of us by turning at the last minute.

I loved watching Dougy Brown's pinpoint passes and joining in the "Mak-e-donia" chant. Great days.

Yep basketball was a major event back for us back in the day. Used to love going to the glasshouse to watch the Giants, D-Mac was an all time fave.

I must admit it was a great event. From memory it was a Melbourne Tigers v South East Melbourne Magic final sometimes in the '90s.

Even Danny Del-Re went!

I don't remember seeing the Schnozz there but there were plenty of other A and B grade celebrities.

I believe the Preston's ground was called BT Connor Reserve. I think they were more a Yugoslavian-Macedonian club. They have a big rivalry with the Greek club South Melbourne.

That's right. The BT Connor reserve. My mates dad would leave us behind the goals and disappear. They were funny crowds.

In Reservoir it is. Yep one of my 2nd cousins supports Preston Makedonia. I have another 2nd cousin who is a Dogs fan like me and the only one in his family too and lives in the northern suburbs. I did live in Preston for a few years on Dundas st after I was born.

My mum's brother was Mayor of Preston but I've never lived that far north.

Preston isn't that far from the WO. Pretty much if you go west on Brunswick/Maribyrnong Road you'll get to Maribyrnong.

To avoid Citylink to get to Footscray from Preston would you say ML the best way is to go on St George's Road then turn right at Brunswick Road.
