    My World Cup Squad

30 players have to be named before the final 15 are selected. If you aren't selected in the 30 then you can't be in the 15.

I've selected 29 players and will have a closer look at it a bit later.

    Wicketkeepers
    Haddin, Wade, Ludeman and Dunk

    Spin Bowlers
    Doherty, Lyon, Agar, O'Keefe

    Pace Bowlers
Johnson, Hazlewood, Starc, Richardson, Abbott, Cummins, Behrendorff

    All-Rounders
    Faulkner, M.Marsh, Henriques

    Batsman

Clarke, Smith, Warner, Finch, Watson, Bailey, Maxwell, White, Simmons, Voges, S.Marsh

Not a bad squad, thanks G. But not sure we would be favourites at this point.

I have Wade at number 1. Haddin is looking like a liability, he should retire gracefully after the next test.
    I think Muirhead for Agar.
Pattinson for Behr & Coulter-Nile for Abbott.
    All rounders agree.
I'd look at Maddinson for the batting spot too.

Any votes for Cam White as 30th man?
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Muirhead would be a good selection, Coulter-Nile I don't think will be fit enough but I would select him if fit. Pattinson is supposed to be targeting a return for the West Indies tour.

It came down to Maddinson or Voges for me.

If Shaun Marsh has played his fifth game for Australia in a row by then, history says he will get injured and we can have both Maddinson & Voges!

Does anyone want to try and narrow it down to 15?

                    Re: My World Cup Squad

I suspect that when the 15 is announced Clarke will be selected despite not being ready to play in the early games. That is a mistake
Haddin will also be selected when maybe Dunk or Ludeman would be the better options. I challenge how important glove work really is in the limited form of the game.
We also might not select a spin bowler and might rely on Maxwell or Smith to bowl a couple of overs.

This is what I think they might select

Warner, Finch, Watson, Smith, Bailey, M.Marsh, Haddin, Faulkner, Johnson, Hazlewood, Starc
                    Clarke, Cummins, Henriques, White/Christian

                      Re: My World Cup Squad

Whilst appreciating this is not what will happen (no chance) this is the squad I would pick:-

Clarke, Smith, Warner, Watson, Finch, Bailey
                      M Marsh, Christian
                      Ludeman
                      Lyon, Doherty
                      Johnson, Hazlewood, Cummins, Richardson

If Clarke doesn't get up, I'd replace him with White.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

Ricky Ponting put up his World Cup 15 and had Gurinder Sandhu in it. His view was that Sandhu was one of the better bowlers late in the game.

                          Re: My World Cup Squad

Based on form I'd go with

Warner, Finch, Watson, Smith, Bailey, M.Marsh, White, Maxwell
                          Ludeman
Johnson, Starc, Hazlewood, Richardson, Faulkner, Doherty

I think we need 5 quick bowlers as we can get injuries but I think it leaves us light on with the batting.
Maxwell is the lucky one and I'd probably prefer Henriques
I don't believe we can carry Clarke in the early games and would only select him if we was very close to 100%.

I was quite shocked. I've never heard of him.

Big risk bringing Luderman in for his debut in the World Cup. He would want to have nerves of steel with big games in b of huge crowds.
