Hopefully this rain in Sydney will juice the pitch up early for the quicks before hardening later so Lyon and maybe Smith getting some bounce and grip and spin can clean up the tail

Sedate start with just the one wicket falling for 73 at Lunch. Nathan Lyon has bowled very nicely and has had Sharma looking all at sea on occasion. He'll do a power of work today with nothing in it for the quicks.

India better not just pad this out for the afternoon. It's just winnable for both teams at this stage, and with nine wickets in hand probably a little more so for India.

We've kept the runs down so the Indians are in a position where they can't win. Getting them into that position would have been one of the objectives at the start of the day. India seem to bat differently when there is a win on offer than they do to play out time and draw the match. They really seem to lose the plot when they play for the draw.

A couple more wickets would have been great but I'm confident we can win from here.

I was weighing it up before I posted, and I came to that conclusion too.

Lyon could take another 5-6 wickets perhaps, but I don't see our quicks getting much reward for effort meaning I struggle to see how we can take another nine wickets.

India of course, could brain fade their way to a loss.

We are bowling well and pushing for it. Need to restrict there runs as much as we can and hope we get the wickets.
