    Re: AFL Draft Day 2015

Found it utterly bizarre seeing the boss of the entire competition coming in stage and reading out 'PASS' time and again. What was he even doing on the stage tonight? Just weird.

The whole event is clearly a work in progress with plenty of work needed. I like the ambition of making it a big event, but there is a lot of scope for improvement. Having Gill read feels as squirmy as Brownlow night.

Seeing him coming on and off stage was a bit silly. And as you say Sedat saying "PASS" each time at the end topped it off.Amateur hour.

Had the Lions decided not to match our bid on Keays, I doubt we would have gone for Dunkley.

I think we had a best mid/best KPD strategy for our first 2 picks. If Collins was gone, I wouldn't have been surprised if we chose Adams anyway.

In the end, I think we were lucky that there were so many sliders, meaning Adams slipped through to our third pick. If the likes of Partington, Tucker, Redman etc were off the board, I'm sure one of Freo/WC/Essendon would have pounced before he got through.

            The whole production was embarrassing.

Friday morning, normally by a conference call. It will be over in 30 minutes.

He learned this from his former Boss. Vlad used to get a bit too involved in things he probably should have left alone. His PR people probably thought it was a good idea.

"To get Josh, who we felt with his leadership, ability to win the ball at ground level, a good mark, and his leadership, was crucial for us. That was a good result that Sydney didn't match that bid." - Simon Dalrymple

I have a feeling he's going to be a good leader, wouldn't you say Simon? Delicious.

Pretty pleased on the surface with our picks, as we addressed some needs with touted prospects
Very understated, even conservative Remi. Makes me question the unbounded joy I feel at having our needs met as uncritical. Nah, a big bodied, solid as a rock negating defender: gold for the Dogs, a further step on our inevitable march to glory!

The lid exploded when the name Kieran Collins was called. Dream result for the club, and the trade for two picks in the 20's worked a treat

Congratulations Simon Dalrymple on trading 11 for the two picks and the subsequent selections of Collins, Dunkley, Adams and another Bailey. Outstanding result!

I must confess that i know nothing about the draftees and have only been able to read what several "experts" and knowledgeable posters have put out there.

I am in awe of those you can actually have the time to be so aware of such a depth of hopefuls.

In a supposedly "thin" draft, everyone seems pretty happy with what we have achieved.

However, on reading the media articles today, I find that there have been several superstars drafted with each club apparently securing someone that will make a material difference to their chances of being competitive/flag contenders etc.

How come from such a thin draft we can have so many apparent stars ?

I guess there is now a need for all teams to spin the capacities of those drafted, where as pre-draft everyone talked it down in the hunt for a bargain.

It was a bit weak after about 40 I reckon. Our pick 48 Bailey Williams didn't play national champs
If you kicked five goals and Tom Boyd kicked five goals, Tom Boyd kicked more goals than you.
