What a blast that was.
Second best to a Dogs win to see the corporate criminals, afl cheats and media darlings beaten.
Reality check.
Karma for their prostitution of the rules and principles of the game.
Bully Blues.
It should never be forgotten that their former President, Luke Sayers, was head of PWC, when the Government's strategy to ensure overseas corporations pay the correct amount of tax, was disclosed to PWC's overseas partners by a member of "the firm".
There's a word for this. It's a bit dated but I think it's still on the books. The word is: treason.
But hey! In our wonderful, robust democracy you'll be hard pressed to find any robust discussion of the nefarious goings on overseen by the men in well-pressed suits.
As to the game the Tigers field kicking and ball handling really improved in the second half. Their defence which was under a lot of pressure in the first, really stood up in the last - manfully.
My only regret was that their wasn't a 5th quarter so that we were denied the opportunity to see streams of Carlton supporters leaving with 20 minutes still to play.

"It's not about the destination - it's about the trip."
Well hasn't that result shaken things up just a bit?
Carlton supporters in recent years have walked a fine line between their traditional arrogance and their insecurities.
This won't have helped them.
Watching the highlights I found it odd that one Carlton player punched the ground after his teammate kicked a goal to put them way in front, seemingly because he wasn't able to kick it himself.

I saw that too. i assumed he was upset with himself for the fumble - which was egregious - but on the vision it looked like he was annoyed his team kicked a goal.
In the comp I run at work all 173 people got it wrong. They either picked the Blues or somehow forgot (week 1) which gives them the equal lowest score for the round...
So - it just became a week out of 8 - everyone is on the same footing!
Bob Murphy tipped Richmond to go winless all season.

How can you not hate the Hawks for their domination of our great game throughout our lifetime, after we ushered the poo and wee into the league?
Many Hawks retired with five premierships.
Yet this Hawk team seems like our little brother, in our slipstream last season and outperforming us in the final.
No Jeff Kennett about this team.
Their field kicking outgunned ours.
Great round for schadenfreude about AFL cheats so far.
The club that shares the thin line of a border with us, cheated despite or because of having a glorious record, were kicked out by a bowling club, aka Bummers, manifesting their incompetence for our enjoyment.
The Hawks showing how to defend and move the ball.
Where's Jake Stringer, bursting his jumper?
If Chol could kick straight at goals, he'd reward his physical presence.
I support the migrants in our game, of any culture or team and believe the Sudanese and Irish have a lot to contribute to the future of our game.
The Sudanese need our game as much as it needs them. Our game has always been a vehicle for the world's diaspora to feel part of our culture, they love it.
Greek and Italian migrants love our game in their new world.
The game is a mother to migrants.
