Has Merret played outside enough to be considered??
Has Warner played forward enough to be considered??

It's funny with Jackson right - listed in your side as AA through 5-rounds but not Freo's #1.
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

True, on Jackson, I hope injury doesn't derail his season, or weakness at the selection table.

Yeah, good points on the wing. I included players getting most of their ball uncontested into that pool (Merritt, really high). Hugh, playing more, and more inside, there for now, but not for long.
Thoughts on the best wingers, based purely on this year, if picking a real team? I found it hard, so far, need more weeks.

Confident in Warner as mid-forward, with % score involvements and time forward a big factor for that role to.

If it was a real team, based purely on this year, thoughts on a more defensive forward and or general defender role?

Surprised to see Weitering, Moore and Taylor in the same team - do they not all play a similar role? At least Moore and Weitering do, Taylor possibly plays deeper...

I would be getting one of them out for the best medium/general defender who actually defends. Zorko, Sinclair, NWM, Ash are all quite similar in their offence being their strength. Would be a big competition to get the kick-outs with those guys!

True. Yeah, we can take this in a reward for elite ratings and play, and kind of looks like a team, or try and pick an actual balanced side.
I like that you referenced the key deenders having similar roles, and not their height.
Right now, Khamis is our 3rd defender; I would be comfortable if that was a Moore or Taylor-type defender.
It couldn't be Weitering, May and Collins for example, but Taylor and Moore are different athletes.
When a player like Bont rests forward, or a Dangerfield, I would much rather Taylor on them, than Khamis.

Fire some names back to keep an eye on, based only on this seasons form.

OK. In a knife to the heart to the Dogs, my first wing nomination would be Lipinski. He's currently got the highest kick retention rating (77%) of any non-defender in the comp and is going alright.

Next I would nominate Jake Lloyd who has pushed upfield this year to great effect for the Swans.

Lastly I would suggest Darcy Wilson who keeps going from strength to strength and shows a pretty amazing running capacity.

(I would actually have suggested Harmes if he had been able to maintain his Freo form vs Brisbane vs getting injured).

                  Great Takes.
I hadan't taken much notice of Lipinski, I will now........ eeerrgggh.
I had noticed Lloyd running and role, and will look for his impact using/winning the footy closely now.
Massive fan of Darcey Wilson, geez he is good.

Makes sense. If any team had Moore, Taylor and Weitering on their list they would be playing all three of them for sure.

I haven't watched too many non-Dogs games this season, but was impressed by Connor Idun's performance on Jack Higgins.

I looked up defensive 1v1 loss percentage and other names which popped out were Jack Henry and Jack Silvagni, but I think they play closer to the Weitering/Moore role and wouldn't lock down a smaller forward like Idun did.

                      Minimum 4 Games to qualify.

Darcy stays in for now, it is a gaping hole behind him and the Thrillseeker.

                      Hogan next in.

Mids are warming the jacket for Bont and Butters.

If we’re gonna do another year of “pick actual wings on the wings” (which I honestly don’t care about at all but if we’re gonna do it either way may as well advocate for our guy) then Truck Williams has to be close. He’s been pretty excellent all year and has an argument for two best on ground performances (Saints and Blues games).

Also Walsh has been despicable this year and is nowhere near the side.

Truck is close. Walsh going a lot better than "media" would have you believe, and is playing more, and more wing.
