      Now they suck.

To be fair they've got a lot of injuries.

        It is an interesting balance.

But everyone needs hope. People peform best when someone sees the best version of someone can offer, sees their potential, not their weaknesses.

My favourite story that illustrates this point.

When a teenage Lionel Messi landed at Barcelona’s famous La Masia academy, it was clear: his left foot wasn’t just good—it was otherworldly. He could glide past defenders like they were traffic cones and curl shots with a whisper of magic.

But there was one thing the coaches couldn’t stop talking about: his right foot. Or more specifically, the lack of it. So, they made it their mission—train the right foot, balance him out, make him “complete.”

Suddenly, every session was full of drills forcing Messi to pass, shoot, and even dribble with his weaker foot. It didn’t click. The kid who could dance through teams with joy started second-guessing himself. Football felt more like homework than magic. He wanted to go back home to Argentina he was that upset.

        Then came the turning point.

One day, the coaches looked at this quiet, frustrated genius and realized: What are we doing? Why try to fix what’s already unstoppable?

So they scrapped the plan. No more right-foot obsession. They told Messi: Just play your game. Trust your instincts.

From that moment on, he was unleashed.

Not long after Barcelona let Messi off the leash and told him to trust his instincts, he gave them the ultimate “told you so.”

In a youth match, still just a skinny teenager, Messi picked up the ball near halfway. What happened next was pure sorcery. He danced past one defender, then another, then another—all with mostly left-foot touches. He didn’t need tricks or flash, just that razor-sharp control, balance, and timing.

The run ended with him slotting the ball into the net like it was the most natural thing in the world. The coaches were stunned. Not just by the goal, but by the clear message: Let Messi be Messi.

That goal—famous within the walls of La Masia—was a turning point. It showed that instinct, not balance, was his superpower. From then on, nobody cared that his right foot was ordinary. His left was extraordinary—and that was more than enough.

He didn’t need two perfect feet—just the freedom to use his gift. That left foot went on to break records, rewrite history, and remind the world that sometimes, the best coaching move… is to get out of the way.

Harley Reid has a lot of growing up to do. Just seems a petulant little shit who takes cheap shots at the opposition.

He should really be suspended for the two pushes to Nankervious face whilst he was on the ground and being held by another eagles player.

The one time I am glad we are not destination club.

Honestly he is worse than Horne-Francis and is definitely buyer beware.

Hes still just a kid. Obviously needs to mature a fair bit.

                  The curse is dead.

This is a pretty entertaining game of footy between the tigers and eagles.

Richmond getting the run with the umpires.

I hate when players push the player who is lying on the ground. Hunter got two weeks for that a few years ago.

GWS showing us how to beat Cats at Cat stadium.
All grist to the mill, we pulled their pants down there last time.
Cats finishing well, credit to them, a point in front with 4 mins left...

I just realised why I stopped hating on GWS the last few years. They keep inflicting pain on Geelong every year at their own pork-barrell toy ground with no wings shithole
