Re: 2018 AFL -Trade Rumours and Discussion

If we miss out on Wingard should we chase Martin?

Essendon hoping to lure Gold Coast’s Jack Martin south during AFL trade period

JACK Martin is the latest Gold Coast Sun weighing up his future with Essendon among a host of rival clubs pursuing the prodigiously-talented forward.

Martin has not requested a trade from the Suns but is interested in joining the Bombers, who have long been admirers.

Martin, 23, is contracted to Gold Coast for 2019 and while a lot of work would need to be done to secure a trade, he remains a chance to leave the club.

It’s understood the Suns, who have already lost co-captain Tom Lynch and could also see Steven May depart, are reluctant to deal on the former no.1 draft pick.

The Bombers are among a number of clubs interested in Martin, the club having made contact with his management regarding a potential trade.

The Suns secured Martin after selecting him with the first pick in 2012’s mini-draft — having handed over the no.2 pick to GWS for that year’s national draft.

After making his debut in 2014, he has since played 81 matches across five seasons.

Lightly-framed but possessing sublime skills, the WA product has battled shoulder and soft-tissue injuries throughout his time at AFL level.

However he has enormous ability, his speed and goalkicking nous appealing to an Essendon side that narrowly missed the finals.

Last year Essendon was one of the key players of the AFL exchange period. bringing in former Sun Adam Saad along with Jake Stringer and Devon Smith.

I'd use the Dahlhaus compo for him but otherwise he'll probably cost far too much for us to feasibly chase without coughing up players.

EFC will definitely win the national trade championships if this comes to fruition.

He's going to cost a lot, but he's what we'd love to have more of on our list.
        TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

His latest Instagram indiscretion may well have been the final straw for him at Port.

Even when you leave the off-field stuff to one side I don't see a lot to get excited about in SPP's game.

Interesting. I don't mind SPP from the few Port games I've seen.

And we need a bald guy.
The fight is here; I need ammunition, not a ride.
