West Coast officials have met with GWS ruckman Rory Lobb.

Agreed - he's a better prospect than Sam Lloyd. Although if there's a three-year deal out there for him then I wouldn't be matching.

He'd be the fastest player on the Saints list, bar Jack Steven.

Poppy on a reduced one year deal, no Hodge or Lewis, Frawley's contract finishes this year so if he goes around again it will be on less, etc.

They've won four flags in the last decade so I'm pretty confident their list management is up to scratch.

Really that was on the back of drafting and priority picks. They topped up over the past few years with ready made players, but as we know that is unsustainable. You really need those early draft picks for the longer term.

Their recruiting was a massive part of their success as well - Dew, Hale, Burgoyne, Lake, Gibson (among others) all played crucial roles. Like it or not their list management has been exemplary and am surprised so many on here are writing them off going forward. They overachieved with an average list this year but don't be surprised if they add further talent and stay in the upper echelons of the ladder.

A 3 year deal for a bloke who can't stay on the park on top of a 4 or 5 year deal for Hannebery whose body looks cooked. Good luck Saints.

I agree, but the point is still interesting. Has any team been successful by building it's core outside of the draft? I suppose it's still too early to tell if that will occur with Free Agency being relatively new. But hawthorn, geelong, st kilda, bulldogs, tigers all had a core of successful draftees. Perhaps Sydney? Their 2005 team? Can't think who was on it.

I'm glad my family abused me as a child, and for life, by making me a Footscray tragic. There was 2016 after all. If my family made me St Kilda, I'd have moved onto following curling and forget this sport existed. There's still time St Kilda people to follow curling, especially if your reading these trade rumours.

Hawks now also talking to Shiel, as well as Wingard, as well as May....

Hawks are the new North Melbourne.
Seriously I think nearly half the players in the AFL system has been mentioned going somewhere else in the media, it’s ridiculous, even players and clubs have said certain players aren’t going anywhere and they still say they are leaving.
I guess if they mention every player they will get 5% right and claim they are experts.

I think you will find it is the player managers. They are becoming like used car salesman and shopping around and then the media is fed the information.

The @GWSGIANTS have confirmed Dylan Shiel will meet with Victorian clubs ahead of the NAB AFL Trade Period.
