Well we had to endure a Prelim at GWS ground which only holds about 20k. If they wanted to maximise crowds, should have been at SCG

Yeah that's it. The rules are always a bit random. FWIW I believe clubs should be always allowed to pick where to play home finals for at least the first two weeks of finals. Centralise it at the prelim stage perhaps. Get Grand Final is ideally set in stone for marketing reasons.

I would agree with that. Often the Prelim is a better game than the GF, and the biggest grounds should be used.
