Markov: delisted by GCS , picked up as SPP , last player on the list ! Cemented his place once Howe got injured

Lipinski : could not get a game at doggies due to his limitations . Played the sub role well , maybe that?s his role ?

A few other journeymen in the Hoskin Elliot, Miochek, Cameron and to some extent Cox
Pies were the better team on the day .

Grundy missed out on a GF but his got to be happy with his squilllions in the piggy bank
Darcy Moore has joined the greats as premiership captain , history will look at him very favourably with his team first attitude
I mean you look at the list and think we've got enough talent on ours to win a flag. We just don't have the same level of intent and desire as the pies. Not even close.

Also, the amount of stick Collingwood were getting after their salary cap mess a couple years back trading out Treloar, Grundy, Stephenson etc to now winning a flag. Pretty incredible.

As predicted the Gary Rohan medal for worst on ground goes to Eric Hipwood. Conor McKenna in the votes. Jarrod Berry also in the mix after throwing away the cup.
      Zorko had to be podium

        Do we really though?

How does our backline match up to both team's backlines? Our midfield was good over the last few years but they've been overtaken by both. Do we have the range of forwards of each of the teams that played today?

If anything today showed me the sides that played have a much better range of contributors than we could have put together this year and we have work to do in bringing in depth of talent.

Your point around desire is absolutely spot on though. Our boys need to get the hunger and fight back, to make the most of the coaching they receive.
        TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Well.....yeah you're probably right. I think I'm thinking of the 2022 list. We've had a few fall off a cliff since then I suppose.

MJP talking about the Saints in 2020, said something like - at some point you have to admit these guys might be good. I feel like with Collingwood everyone's been saying they're a bunch of honest triers, but aren't actually good when all of the evidence suggests otherwise.

A bit like us on 2016 when we had our best side on the park. Yeah there were some obvious gaps across the ground, but the fundamentals of a good side were clearly laid out in the talent on the park.

Without being a smartarse I called this out early in our season. Everyone has been honeydicked by a few of our players being elite or at least previously being elite. We have so much work to do when thinking about talent we can bring in and how it can create selection pressure and urgency.

What did you think about Cameron's late hit on Howe? Left him with three broken ribs.

The fight is here; I need ammunition, not a ride.

                  I'm all for it.

Playing a game of footy I don't expect to be hit above the shoulders or below the knees and if I'm getting rid of the footy as long as that doesn't happen and I'm still in the act then I'm fair game.

He hadn't landed, the ball was in dispute by force/ contact or intimidation. He just got him late and a free was awarded appropriately.

                    The pies had :
                    - depth which they developed
-recruited well in Markov, Lipinski , Mcstay ,Darcy Cameron and Frampton
                    - i hate how theu are a destination club for likes of recent recruits in Mitchell a,McStay and Hill
                    - undderated back line , most workman like
                    - they play with agression and intent
Overall reasonable clean with possession pickup and disposal

Absolute dog act against a fair player who has had his fair share of impact injuries.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

I think Collingwoods last two years might be the best 2 years possible as a supporter.

Go in with low expectations, be actually good, fun to watch, all your players embrace their roles and become at worst reliable, win like 15 games last year by under 2 goals (the funnest margin), have a good finals series but ultimately fall short, follow it up with an even better year where you are the best and the changes you made in the off season all work, still win a shitload of close games, continue to play a highly enjoyable brand of footy, win the Premiership in an awesome Grand Final.

It's hard to fault, even the bad bits (like losing the prelim) give just enough adversity to make the good bits (the flag) feel even more earned. Couple this with a fan base that has not been shy about embracing the side and turning out in huge numbers, hard to think of a funner 2 years.

                              Yeah I'm a little jealous.
I should leave it alone but you're not right
