I think we should trade our first for an established star if one's on the market, but if that doesn't pan out, I'd be interested in more pace through the midfield. Sara Howley seems to fit the mark.

      Re: Afl - w 2024

I do agree that change is needed. Because the spectacle can be improved. But essentially at this stage, they are only allowed to train as much as a local footy team. So you can?t expect too much. Plus, I worry that people expect to eventually see something that is remotely resembling the men?s games. So I do believe that people need to accept that AFLW is always going to be its own unique take on Aussie Rules and not AFLM lite.

id personally like them to be paid as full time athletes and use the build and will it come sort of model. They also need to schedule games that will allow people to attend games.
Believe we re winning the flag every year. At least I was right one time.

Yep, she sounds good and may be will be available at our first pick. Only slight concern is that she's a Geelong supporter who is from the Falcons but there's always a retention risk for our club.

I noticed yesterday Grigg in a club video relating to Laloifi running onto our ground as a milestone for her rehab. Pretty good sign that Grigg has re-signed I would think.

Rylie Wilcox coming second in the B&F at 19 (turned 20 yesterday but played through the season as a 19-year-old) is exceptional. I love how she goes about it.

I rated her hugely after her first game , she is a gun and I think this year was her breakout year, she will show her real talent next year and beyond.

Expected moves, what your clubs needs in AFLW trade period

THE AFLW trade period opens on Thursday for another year and will run until next Wednesday ahead of the draft on Monday, December 16.

Here's a club-by-club guide to all the rumoured moves so far and what each club could be targeting over the next few weeks.

                Western Bulldogs

Adding to the midfield and forward lines will no doubt be a focus for the Bulldogs throughout the off season. Given the strength of this year's draft class and the number of highly skilled midfielders and forwards available, they would be forgiven for focusing heavily on recruiting young players at the draft. But another experienced, hardened player from another club wouldn't go astray. Positively for the club, several important players who were expected to seek trades have opted to stick around, including Isabelle Pritchard, who has signed until 2027, and Isabella Grant, who has extended until 2026.

Pritchard crowned AFLW Best and Fairest

The midfielder has capped off a breakout campaign by claiming the Club's 2024 AFLW Best and Fairest award.

Isabelle Pritchard has capped off a breakout 2024 campaign by claiming the Western Bulldogs AFLW Best and Fairest award.

It marks a maiden first-place finish for the 22-year-old midfielder, who led from start to finish at Crown Aviary on Wednesday night.

She polled 38 of a possible 55 votes to secure the win.

Pritchard enjoyed a career-best outing this season, averaging 19.9 disposals, 5.6 tackles and 5.2 clearances.

She finished seven votes clear of runner-up Rylie Wilcox (31), with Jess Fitzgerald close behind in third with 30 votes.

It?s an impressive rise for both Wilcox and Fitzgerald, who finished equal-10th and eighth respectively in last year?s count.

Wilcox also claimed the Club Community Award for her work with the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation, while Isabella Grant won the Anissa Groves Trainers? Award.

Heidi Woodley was recognised as the Most Improved, while Elisabeth Georgostathis took home the Coaches? Award.

Elaine Grigg was named Best Young Player, and Maggie Gorham was voted the Players? Player.

Club Best and Fairest voting process: at the conclusion of each match, the coaching panel gave each player a rating from 1-5 based on their impact on the game. The maximum votes that a player can achieve for any game is five.

Pritchard, Wilcox and Fitzgerald picked up 1-3 just makes sense.

It's a shame because she showed so much promise a few years ago, but her concussion history has made it hard for her. I also heard that she had work opportunities in Sydney which prompted the move.

Can someone give a rundown on Stephenson?
