                                    Andrew 'The Flying Egg' Wills... I bet they still lose sleep over losing the Egg to Freo, and to think the Bulldogs then pounced with pick 9 in the preseason draft in 2000 to extract the pure best of Wills with his final 10 AFL games, in our colours.

                                            He was. An excellent pick up for North in 1999.
                                            Apart from Tim Kelly, Linc McCarthy and Esava there haven't been really any players that the Cats wanted to keep that have left since basically the turn of the century. And now Holmes is hanging around, to almost nobodies surprise.

                                                Geelong traded Brent Moloney to Melbourne who was a promising young player at the time. They didn't so much want to lose him but needed a high draft pick to trade for Brad Ottens.

                                                Steven Motlop left to Port Adelaide as a free agent. Of course they got a juicy draft pick (19) as compensation that conveniently got them Ablett back, as mentioned above.
