Never recovered from his leg break really.
      Ditto Hayes from his ACL.

      Both guys desperately unlucky

Luckless tall departs as Saints make three more list changes

ST KILDA has confirmed the delistings of Ben Paton, Jack Hayes and Olli Hotton, having said farewell to forward Tim Membrey on Monday.

Paton, pick 46 in the 2017 draft, played 71 games for the Saints as a small defender, including just four this year.

AFL.com.au reported earlier this month that Greater Western Sydney had expressed an interest in him as a ready-to-go recruit and he could be given another chance over the summer signing period.

Hayes, a mature-aged recruit from South Australia, has had a horror run with injury during his time at the Saints, playing just eight senior games.

He had some interest from Collingwood in recent weeks, although the Magpies are expected to pick up Membrey after he was also cut by the Saints this week.

Hotton, pick 35 in the 2022 AFL Draft, did not play a senior game for the Saints.

"Ben, Jack and Olli have all been valued players throughout their time at the club," Saints footy boss David Misson said.

"Each have had their individual significant injury setbacks, however, have continually shown to be resilient, optimistic and professional young men throughout these periods.

"We wish them all the best for this next chapter of their lives and careers."
Yeah that 2022 draft is not looking pretty outside some in the top 10 and then Weddel. Good to know it's not just us!

I remember at the time a lot were praising the saints' haul, especially Hotton. Together with the 2020 draft you do wonder what impact covid had on these kids development.

Interesting. Oleg Markov 2023 premiership pies player has been delisted with a view to re-rookie

He is 28, but can run and plays with a certain hectic nature.

          Delisted free agent?

He also has one hell of a moustache.

I reckon Markov is ok. Could do worse.

He can play but has never really reached his potential. Athletically he's gifted but can he actually defend?
Do you think he could fit into our back line or wing?

Wouldn’t he need to seek a DFA move? If they’re looking to rookie him then he would wait and nominate only for the RD? In which case we are out. If we wanted him im assuming we have to offer him a main list year with more generous years/dollars. If we were interested there’s nothing from making that offer.

Paton is a solid player but injuries are the big question. I certainly wouldn't say no to him especially as a DFA but I'd be a little wary of if he'd come good again.

                      Spot on BT.

North did the same thing with Hugh Greenwood when GCS tried to delist and rookie him, North picked him up as a DFA.

Re Stephenson. My Twitter feed threw me Kane Cornes saying Stephenson for Dunkley was a good trade (at the time).

And people get angry about his opinions…

I still don't understand why Markov played ahead of Noble in the 2023 finals. I think Noble is the better player.

Coupled with Cornes suggesting back in 2021 JUH for Grangier-Barras.

Surely he can’t believe half the shit he spews?

                              Don’t know, clearly Ch7 think he’s a great mind though…

I just don’t understand why (a) people listen to him, especially about us. And (b) why anyone would get riled up about it. He knows nothing more about us than some barking mad nutter on Twitter. Imagine he’s the list manager, that’s at least Dunkley & JUH for two blokes as of today not in the AFEL system. Impossible to take seriously.

You've got to remember, his kpi is clicks and views. It's not truthfulness, or number of comments supporting him. It's just raw numbers - how many people clicked on this video, and how much ad revenue did that make us?

I don't think he believes even 10% of what he says, but he is very good at his job.
