The Best Seat In The House

With the scramble for tickets to the Elimination final about to kick off, I thought it would be worthwhile starting a thread where folks can share where they think the best place to sit is at each stadium.

On this weeks menu: The MCG

I have been to the MCG a tonne of times, but I am still torn on where the best overall experience will be.

I did find this interactive seat view site (most grounds have this now):
3D Interactive Seat Views for Melbourne Cricket Ground at Melbourne Cricket Ground interactive seat map using Virtual Venue™ by IOMEDIA

...and this site where people have posted photos from the vantage of their seat:

What do people think? Where are people going to try to snag seats?

    Balcony mcc is pretty nice.

I think Olympic n49 - n52 is your premo non mcc.

Yeah, that looks pretty damn good. I sat on Level 2 for the 2009 Qualifying game v Geelong, but it was over the other side and it has the overhang. I like that the seats above don't have that.

Will these be accessible to WB club members?

Level 2 wing Shane Warne stand is probably the best, if not that, Level 2a same stand.

I sat in the former for the semi Dogs vs. Hawks in 2016 and it was amazing.

For the 2016 GF a work colleague and absolute legend got me seats in the AFL members half way between wing and Punt Road half forward about 28 rows back on L1. Amazing seats.

Ultimately it depends on how you want to watch the game. In 2008 when Hawthorn dismantled us I had low top level seats in the Warne stand at the Punt road end and I could clearly dissect every bad thing we did because the game was in front of me like the coaches see in their review. It was less pleasant than you could possibly imagine.
        TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

I had similar sounding seats for the 2016 GF- Forward pocket about 20 odd rows back. Not sure which stand it was, but Biggs's 87 efforts in that one play was just in front of me.

I am thinking I will go after Level 2 for some cover- one of my kids is coming over with me and I don't want to risk being on Level 1 if the weather turns sour.

Looking at the interactive it lis hard to tell if 2A in the Shane Warne stand or Level 2 in the Olympic stand are covered. Can anyone confirm?

I am not a huge fan of the overhangs (it cuts off atmosphere by not being able to see the crowd above and and muffling their sounds IMO) and I think I will try for 2A, or Level 2 on the other side where there their is no Level 2A above.

Just nervous there will be no rain cover.

2A in the Warne stand is under cover unless the weather comes from the north. Level 2 in the Warne stand should be completely undercover.

Olympic stand is difficult to tell. You will most likely be under the roof unless right at the front, but if the weather is swirly you'll get some of it.

Tell your kid to toughen up and do the same yourself. It's footy.

I love the rain and would gladly sit on Level 1 in a monsoon. My kid is 7 and will be getting whisked to the airport at 5am that morning and it will be close to 10pm by finishing time. Making him sit in potentially pouring rain seems like it might be crossing the threshold into unnecessarily cruel and negligent parental behaviour.

Ended up with N29, not the best of Level 2 but considering the drama lots of others had I think I have made out quite well.

                    How?d everyone else go?

Edit: FB is melting down with members having issues with barcodes. Sounds like a complete dumpster fire.

M36 Row S no idea if this is a Bulldogs members area. My kids likes L1.

Took an hour to get them it kept saying L1 didn't have enough tickets (2) and kept throwing me to L4. And two seats in L1 just appeared!

We are both members and used barcodes.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

Apparently reserve ticket holders barcodes had issues.

Ticketek found out 25min in and fixed it 25min later.

It's sounding like it will be a sell-out. Our first outside grand finals?

That's rubbish. I tried my "invalid" barcode again after 12pm out of interest and it still wasn't working.
