Article in the paper today said 'Cougars' is one of the most popular names amongst their 'fans'.

Preying on the vulnerable young men in other teams, seducing them with money...

Apt, but hard to fit on a guernsey, and what would broadcasters abbreviate it to? WSABWEGMABTYDACCW?

Re: GWS - Search for a name

I actually look at GC17 and GWS as 4 easy points + greater tv revenue.

I find it difficult to become passionate about hating them. I find it easy to dislike Hawthorn who we play tomorrow...Personally I hope they select a game that doesn't embarrass the code - I have friends in Sydney and that ridiculous Opera house on the Swans Guernsey is enough already.

                      WSW would be fine.

I heard Sheedy mention 'Warriors' would be a good name. And as much as I hate to agree with Sheeds, it wouldn't be bad.

I presume they'll go sky blue for the colours?

But the Aukland Warriors play in the NRL with the same name...so I can't see how that would work. Pretty sure the AFL would want to get a bit of separation.

My trips there would encourage me to say 'GWS GRAFFITI' - and whilst this is edgy and all that, I am pretty certain the town council wouldn't appreciate it. I would say they would try and tie in to the history of the region (that is apparently what you do these days) and given that would not be surprised to see the GWS Colonials or something of that ilk. Pretty certain the legend of the Wild Colonial Boy is from that area of the country though happy to be corrected.
