Free? Not sure what you are on about.

Put up then. How much would you pay for Cloke?
    What would be your limit?
A little something called free agency

Yep, apologies Chef, I did miss it. That would be fine, but I actually think he will be earning over that by the time the bidding war stops.
Would anyone be surprised if he earns over a $1 Million per year? Not me. And you have to balance that with other needs in the list.

Yeah not good at all I admit. O'Shae, Lynch, Everitt, Stack, Hill was it too that year? We went hard on the Indigenous boys that's for sure.

What I meant to say was that from 2006 through to 2010 we didn't get a great look in across those drafts, and with Harbrow and Ward leaving there is a distinct paucity of players on the list between 23-25 years old. I agree that we needed to be savvy during this period and we weren't.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

I'd still rather chase Dangerfield than Cloke. We desperately need a high quality outside mid who can also see ball get ball. Danger, Pendles, Fyfe, Murph - no surprise that when these guys are up their respective team generally wins. Until we fix our forward entries you can put a match to any cheque we write for Travis.

Dangerfield is staying put, thats is one player we should have gone very hard at from 12 monrhs ago. (Assuming we did not)

Did you read this today: Can you name the best player in the AFL?

This is not a free agency question per se, but I wasn't sure it deserved its own thread:

Melbourne is a rabble, and by all accounts, the senior playing squad are disenfranchised. However, this is not to say that they are necessarily crap players, and may well flourish in a different environment. Are there any Melbourne senior players (and by senior I don't mean old, I mean established) that we would go after and potentially get for an uninflated price? I'm sure quite a few of them would want out. Or would they all be too mentally tarnished by being from a losing culture?

I mean, someone like Davey may not like being the main man from week to week and struggles with being a 'leader', but if you put him in a functioning forwardline he could be the Stevie J. or Milney.

                    Anyone?

Davey in the past was a very dangerous player but these last two years he seems to be less interested in playing for the club. Only thing against him may be his age, he will be 29 next month. The rest of them in that older bracket of 26 plus, maybe someone like Rivers?

Brent Maloney is an idiot but a gun footballer in a good team in my opinion. he has just turned 28 and should be signed by us for two seasons. We will be vying for a finals place next year and he will add plenty to a young midfield.

Agree Maloney is a gun, isn't he more inside that outside?
More of an In Bruges guy?
