I was at the game and the Bombers faithful were already turning on themselves. It seems only Jimmy was afforded blind and deluded unquestioning support. It was a joy to watch.

The fact they've gone nowhere under Jimmy's reign seems to have been lost amongst the cult members.

Are you talking about (Rev) Jimmy Hird or (Rev) Jimmy Jones. I hope you stayed clear of the powerade Rick.

I was evicted for being an infiltrator when I refused the cool aid they were handing out.

This move to essentially remove the night grand final from the record books going forward, does that mean the Norm Smith, sorry, Michael Tuck medal is forever lost to the game?

I'm not sure it meant a heap, but the BOG in the state games (inc EJ Whitten Medal) and now this one possibly, just another little bit of tradition and history lost. I know the H&A games mean everything, but meaning everything at the cost of everything else is in an aspect sapping.

I agree, it seems like the AFL have acknowledged the farce the preseason competition had become and turned it into a series of warmup games, but I always think you get better preparation, better experience for young players and a better spectacle when the games actually mean something.

If you kicked five goals and Tom Boyd kicked five goals, Tom Boyd kicked more goals than you.

Interesting point. When Dunstall, Brereton etc get introduced, the night premierships is always mentioned. And I caught the last 20 seconds of GCS v Essendon, Ablett kicking a 65 metre point with one second on the clock to break the score deadlock and clench the win is ordinarily emotional pandemonium for everyone. It barely got noticed by players, commentators and me after an initial excitement. Surely everyone deserves more than this in such a spectacular moment of footy either at the ground or on TV...

Just watching 504 because there's nothing on...

If this is no longer a competition for the fans, which it's not, why bother with super goals which can bastardise the scoreboard and give false impressions. Seems a stupid rule to persist with for no real apparent reason.
