Watching some old games on YouTube recently got me thinking about some of our better pick ups of fringe players from other clubs that became more than serviceable Bulldogs. My criteria was that they were players that had played just a handful of senior footy with their previous clubs thus ruling out the likes of Scott Wynd and Tony Liberatore (Untried) and also Barry Hall and Jason Akermanis (Stars who came for Superannuation).
My top three were,
Peter Foster (Fitzroy) who played over 160 games for us representing Victoria and I think won a Best and Fairest.
Matthew Robbins (Geelong) who played over 100 with us and became a regular goalkicker over quite a few seasons.
Todd Curley (Collingwood) who also played over 100 and although not fashionable played his role most weeks and fell victim to the ridiculousness of the rules of the AFL at the time which probably ended his career.
Anyone else you would care to nominate or comment on remembering the criteria above?
