Surely we debut the Buss next week? (to replace JOD) If he can't get in the side at this point I'm not convinced he ever will.

Is Coffield fit to play at the moment? He seems to have totally dropped off the map... we need someone to replace Cleary and I don't really trust Buku all that much. Otherwise I'd go Gardner there.

I quite liked Arty's game against Hawthorn.
He brings his own energy which is important at the moment as the boys looked a bit flat at times last night. Maybe he gets upgraded to the main squad and Garcia comes in as the emergency? I have real concerns about Garcia but we're running out of players.

O'Donnell and Cleary out with injury, obviously.

Bring in Garcia so that Fridge can go back to half back and cover Cleary's absence, plus I think we could have used Garcia's clearance ability tonight even if his disposals leave much to be desired.

Buss seems like the next man up at full back to cover O'Donnell's absence, would be a great opportunity to debut. If he's not ready though, I think Buku is the next man after him which I wouldn't hate because Collingwood don't have a super tall forward line anyway.
That's it for me as well..time to see how Buss plays on the big stage

O'Donnell fractured jaw. So brutal. Few options for him. I know we all want Buss in but I think Gardner is the safest option over Buku. Could put Williams back in defence and put Arty in as a winger forward. Garcia could also come in but then Freijah has to go back to replace Cleary. We really are running out of players and there is not much anyone can do about it. Sucks.

I might be an idiot, but is this showing as a home game for us on afl.com.au?

I think it is our home game. We'd want a home game at the G to celebrate the 100 years and have a big crowd.

            Out: Cleary, O'Donnell, Dolan
In: Coffield (if got through the VFL praccie match ok, may have got another niggle), Buss, Jones (off sub and in list), Garcia to sub

Think we need to send Williams back with Cleary and JOD unfortunately going down, we just cannot go into a game with likely Buku/Gardner, Baker & Gallagher in defence. That is pretty terrible disposal.

Coff was on managed minutes so I don't think we risk him

If Buss can’t get a game this week, in his 3rd year, then why is he on the list? He should be on par with JOD, and surely is better than Gardner and Buku (who can’t defend 1 on 1)

                  MINE…
OUT- JOD (injured) Cleary (injured) Dolan (omm)
                  IN - Buss, Garcia, Baker
                  gallagher to sub
                  jones in 22

                  LIKELY…
OUT- JOD (injured) Cleary (injured) Dolan (omm)
                  IN- Buku, Garcia, Baker
                  garcia to sub
                  jones in 22

                    I suspect we bring in:

Gardner to replace JOD and play as the deepest.

Buku for Cleary who may end up playing all over the park (and could even be the sub) but gives us some coverage particularly as Lobb seems to have been banged up too. (Note, would love Croft for this but confused re his availability status).

Garica on face value is the logical replacement for Dolan. I also wouldn’t be surprised if we threw Dolan in again.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

Would we consider bring in Poulter for the wing and send Williams back.
Buku in for JOD and may be Dolan gets another go as sub with Arty in.

I think from what we have learned from the pre-season and practice matches, the Busslinger calls are more ambitious thank likely. We all want to see him in, but I think it's more likely Gardner and Buku are next in line before Buss unfortunately. I think we were a little small on Saturday, especially once JOD went down and we had no cover back there. so hopefully both Buku and Gardner are added for height.

Dolan did some nice things and will be a player, but he still needs to build up his body and fitness base so we can take it slow with him. i'm ok with moving Dolan into the sub role for this week, might suit coming on when a bit of the heat is out of the game and can have an impact in the 2nd half. Either Arty Jones or Garcia into the 22 for a bit more run and versatility. Gallagher's run and defensive side is nice, but his disposal is a real concern.

IN - Gardner, Buku, Garcia (or Jones into 22)
Out - Cleary, JOD, Gallagher or Dolan (to sub)

Good post. I think we'll retain Gallagher in lieu of Beveridge saying he'd like to minimise the unforced changes (albeit, he did acknowledge some kicks that clipped fingers unnecessarily for which I have no doubt he had Gallagher in mind).

                          In - Gardner, Garcia,, Khamis
Out - O'Donnell, Cleary, Dolan, Jones (Sub)

Garcia comes in to add another option in the midfield/ forward rotations. Dolan gets a breather. He's had a taste but the expanses of the MCG will be a lot for him to deal with, after a taxing game.

Khamis and Gardner to help deal with McStay, Membrey and Mihocek (all of a sudden Collingwood have worrisome talls to deal with). If North had another tall forward it's likely one of Gardner or Khamis would have played anyway, our hand is pretty much forced here.

A part of me wanted to see West dropped, but it was his first serious hit out and while he was rusty he did a couple of things early that showed a lot of quality. The reality is VDM and McNeil aren't likely to maintain that level each week so we have to stick with West to try and build our blend of options in that area.
                          TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

I've read through your posts this morning and it's great to have Jeenak After Dark back dissecting the round

Those ins and outs make a lot of sense but how do we shut down the Collingwood smaller forwards? They've got some serious wheels.
