Always Right Match Committee R4 vs Fremantle 2025

Welcome to the Always Right Match Committee Thread. The Match Committee threads has been named after long time WOOF member Always Right who tragically passed away in March 2018.

If you were on the Western Bulldogs match committee, what changes would you make after our Round Three match against Carlton for our Round Four match against Fremantle at Optus Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

For those new to these threads, please give a brief explanation for your changes ... this would add a lot of value to the discussion.

Big ground at Optus, do we need to add some more run and if so who?

Hopefully Baker is OK. Thought was very good tonight and also offered a bit last week as the sub. His run would be important.

Not sure we have a lot of other running options. Perhaps Arty, even though he was disappointing in the first two.

Baker suffered a corky, so could be right

Arty is not AFL standard. Hopefully Bakes is ok. If not I'd bring Duryea back in.

I'd probably bring Duryea in for Gallagher anyway. I'm just not seeing it with him.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

Does playing the three key forwards hamper Naughton? It's never a mix that he's seemed comfortable with but I think you have to stick with it after O'Donnell's performance tonight.

I'd be inclined to stick with that side, I thought a lot of those fringe guys were good. Maybe swap Dolan for Arty if we feel like Dolan needs a full game of footy somewhere.

Yeah I think Arty is up against it but he can run, and if we need more of it, he's about the only option left.

I wouldn't bring Duryea back. He's done. Thought Gallagher was OK tonight and I'd rather persist with him to see if he can make the position his own rather than a player at the end who, in my opinion, should have retired last year.

Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

No change for mine. But if Baker isn’t right maybe JOD back in defence and arty in as sub

Looking forward - Naughton, Darcy and JUH. It will be the envy of everyone.

I thought that Dolan had a real impact when he came on, it's not easy to insert yourself into such s high intensity game after coming from the bench.

We were a bit tall last night and if we lose Baker it's going to be hard to see which running players are in good enough form.
Does Poulter's ability to play a couple of roles get rewarded?

The Sub is a hard role for a youngster to fill. Thought he got involved though.
