Always Right Match Committee R8 vs Port Adelaide 2025

Welcome to the Always Right Match Committee Thread. The Match Committee threads has been named after long time WOOF member Always Right who tragically passed away in March 2018.

If you were on the Western Bulldogs match committee, what changes would you make after our Round Seven match against GWS for our Round Eight match against Port Adelaide at Mars on Saturday

For those new to these threads, please give a brief explanation for your changes ... this would add a lot of value to the discussion.

Will have to see what happens in the VFL but unless someone is sore it might be no change.

        Out: Dolan
        In: McNeil if possible

Dolan's had a fine start to his career, but he had minimal impact today and could do with a rest.

McNeil, Gallagher, Duryea, Baker and Poulter could be in the mix to replace Dolan and Hynes

I could mount an argument for Lobb staying forward with Jones to come back in to replace Buku who looked off the pace tonight but as usual conditions in Ballarat will dictate. Think both Hynes and Dolan could do with a refresh at vfl level with either McNeil if fit, or Baker or Gallagher to come back in. Not sure if Treloar is available as yet.

Thought that was one of Bukus better games tonight as a genuine utility, to be honest im not the biggest fan but he played his role tonight all over the ground

I thought Buku was ok tonight. Vandermeer had little impact and dropped two chest marks, one of which allowed them to score a goal..

If McNeil is fit he has to play. We need to start rolling in some more experienced players if their form is okay at the VFL

I can't imagine they rush McNeil back to play his heavy running / fast burst game style after a hamstring (even just minor hammy) after only 13 days. Might need one more week to be safe, but we'll see.

If Poulter plays well in the VFL might be time for him to get a look in at half forward and can likely come in for Hynes / Dolan (rest).

Was O’Donnell injured? If so Liam Jones comes straight back in.

I agree that Dolan and Hynes are both due a rest.

If fit, McNeil and Treloar should come back but suspect both are not quite there yet.

Jones in could add some flexibility to play Lobb forward, albeit it would probably mean one tall has to come out so we don’t lose run.

Gags, Baker must both be on the cusp. Maybe Gags back as a front half player who can impact the scoreboard?

I wonder how Fridge pulls up too?

Will hold fire but there are a few contemplations this week.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

If McNeil is cleared fitness wise to play then play him.
