I don't know much about the history of Ballarat and our support base in the area, but is this a newer phenomen since we have started playing games in Ballarat or has it always been a bit of a stronghold.
I also ran the marathon and noticed the same thing. The win the night before probably helped.

We have been building the membership, so seems like the locals are taking it on.

Excellent. Well done on the Marathon and I'm glad it was just me seeing a large amount of Bulldog supporters on course. BTW - they are building something pretty special with the Ballarat Marathon. Amazing that it is only in its second year. Hats off to Mona and the team.

I live here and it’s definitely picked up over the past few years. Growing up, I was usually the only Dogs fan in my class or friend group. Now, there’s a heap of kids who claim the Dogs as their team in my son’s year.

I think a combo of winning the flag, having the Bont, playing here etc has all played its part. I know many don’t like us playing games here but it’s hard to argue it has been anything but a success for the club.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Huge coincidence ... neither did I. In fact, I haven't run anywhere since Bruce Springsteen sang Born to Run at the Telstra Dome in 2003.

                        Ha.

Awesome mate. I wish I could do that but a heart issue prevents me unfortunately (pulmonary stenosis).

How did you pull up ?

I have pulled up suprisingly well. The normal muscle soreness but to as severe as normal. It took a bit longer than I wanted to get to sleep on Saturday night, I was a bit pumped after watching such a good Dogs performance!
