I'm hoping we give Hynes a full game.

In the mix
Treloar is pushing to be available for the first time in 2025 after missing most of the pre-season due to a series of calf strains. The reigning All-Australian midfielder has trained fully over the past few weeks. Coffield is also on track to be available for some minutes this weekend. Liam Jones played in the VFL for the first time in years after Jedd Busslinger was picked for a debut. Taylor Duryea was busy in the VFL with 30 touches, while Oskar Baker also collected 30 disposals after flying from Canberra to Blacktown that morning. – Josh Gabelich

I know he has the odd howler but I don't believe he is a bad kick overall.👍 1Comment

I think he's a fine long kick, but agree with Scott that his short kicking is a concern.Comment

Kicking efficiency is a bit of a false stat because a 30m kick to a contest is classed as effective. My understanding is that it's only a direct turnover that would impact your kicking efficiency.

Disposal Efficiency: Percentage of disposals that are effective.

With JJ now in doubt, I am going to go with:
In: Treloar, McNeil, Baker
Out: Dolan, JJ, HynesFFC: Established 1883

According to Champion Data glossary, all they say is:
Disposal Efficiency: Percentage of disposals that are effective.
Kicking Efficiency: Percentage of kicks that were effective.
see here
Effective Long Kick: A kick of more than 40 metres to a 50/50 contest or better for the team.
Effective Short Kick: A kick of less than 40 metres that results in the intended target retaining possession. Does not include kicks that are spoiled by the opposition.
So a player who tends to kick long, like Bramble, might end up with a higher kicking efficiency when really his biggest metric is metres gained.
Bailey Smith is another who often kicks long, which makes his shocking kicking efficiency even more laughable...you just need to get it to a 50/50 Baz!😂 2👍 2Comment

I literally dont see what Hynes offers. I don’t see the point in having him and Dolan both playing. If McNeil or Treloar are available , then they have to come in. Even if Treloar was Sub, that’s going to offer more than A full game from HynesI will never see #16 the same!!👍 1Comment

Yeah, maybe, but it could be the game that it comes together for Hynes and sets him up as a 10 year player. Does it hurt to ask Treloar o find touch and fitness in the VFL?👍 1Comment

Sure, he missed that goal he should have kicked versus the Saints, outside of that he's going at 72% kicking efficiency and a few of his kicks have been coach's orders/ direct inside rather than down the line. Overall disposal efficiency of 74% which is pretty good for a newcomer.
You might be right in suggesting the side would be better without each of him and Dolan in the same side. Here's their season comparison (just out of interest):
TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.Comment

Would we ask the same of Bont or Libba to come back through the VFL after a long lay off? No way. Treloar is in our top 3 bracket of players- no way should he come back via the VFL. He is the ultimate professional. If he is good to go he comes straight back in.👍 1Comment

Play him as the sub, imagine sending Adz on 2/3 of the way through a game.Park that car
Drop that phone
Sleep on the floor
