I also don’t really get the Bramble criticism. He’s doing a pretty good job in a position where the cupboard is entirely bare.

Played 53% of total match time. Tackling is one aspect of defending yeah but I'm not sure Laith ever tackles he just charges at people and runs into them. He has great closing speed and knows the structure he's going ok.But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.😂 1👍 1Comment

With Jones and Hayes recently going down with bad injuries who will we need to cover? Wright, Caddy? Is Cox playing at the moment?Buss better be back in, we’re definitely short a tall at Marvel. Please no more Poulter either, if he’s not going to run the wing (and we have better options now) then I just think he’s a complete waste of a spot in the forward line. Bramble on thin ice too, had a very very poor year.
In: Buss & I’d go with Dolan, but sounds like Kennedy might get the gig which is fair enough, hell of a game on the weekend.
Out: Poulter & Gallagher
If VDMs injured then Dolan or Arty in but sounds like he’s okay, not sure on Sub probably Kennedy would be a decent fit but we don’t like to do that on first gamers.
Williams JOD Buss
Dale Lobb JJ
Davo Libba Freijah
English Bont Richards
Sanders Buku MKennedy
Mcneil Naughty West
Harmes, LKennedy, VDM, Bramble, Cleary - maybe Bramble sub as we’re a defender heavy (if Williams stays down back)
Should we be concerned about our ability to run out the game off the back of last week? Do we need extra legs rather than an extra tall? But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.Comment

For me, it’s not so much about the criticism of his form it’s more about the standards he set last year. Especially through the middle to late stages of the season, I thought he was elite with his distribution and gave us a lot in transition. He just hasn’t quite hit those heights yet. I still think he’s got a level or two to go to get back there. He’s definitely still in my best 22.

He is being asked to play a different role though.

He is more lock-down, not as high as last year, with JJ and Dale doing that.
His numbers were always going to be lower.👍 1Comment

Wright, Caddy and Langford are their tall forwards.Comment

I am in the "pick Buss" camp but I absolutely think that the trio of Lobb, JOD and Williams/Cleary can cover those guys. Langford isn't that tall, neither is Caddy for that matter.
However, I (and Bevo seemingly) think that Williams is far more impactful on the wing so bringing Busslinger back in would allow Williams to play in his best position.👍 1Comment

This is where I’m at, I think Williams could handle Langford but I also think he’s a good match up for Buss and frees up Williams, whose also a great match up for a guy like Perkins if they want to keep him in def. I like him better on the wing now though too.

It’s also the fact that we need the flexibility to swing Lobb forward, I think we may need to pull that lever this week at some stage. McKay will go to Naughty and Reid has been an absolute beast last few weeks, if we let him do what he wants all day we’re going to have a bad time.
Buss in allows us to throw Lobb forward if Buku is struggling without hurting the backline as much, we’re definitely a tall short 5 is the right mix across both ends👍 1Comment

Interesting call to bring Arty in, was kind of hoping for a Luke Kennedy debut, stiff on Buss too, i really want Arty to make it, but just needs to do more and polish the skills a bit.Comment

Hmm really want Buss in, don’t love it but in a perfect world should be right with JOD, Lobb & Williams/Cleary on Langford.
I think there’s a good chance Lobb may have to go forward at some point, unless we reaaally dominate the midfield which is also a fair possibility, in that case we can probably manage with JOD on 2MP & Buku on Caddy.
so should be fine - but I don’t like going in like this, it leaves us way too susceptible if there’s an injury to a tall and then we’re completely out on our feet at one end. Buss in solves a lot of issues.
Looking at that team, Williams probably starts back and I’d expect Bramble sub. Really hope Arty can fire a shotComment

Yeah maybe, feels like Bramble though being benched on the teams list for Doc & Cleary, and if Williams plays back which you’d suspect he has to were playing one more defender than normal. So I think itll
be Bramble, definitely between him or Arty would think👍 1Comment
