Didn't vanders start off as a 'line breaking' half back? I can't quite remember remember how he went. Can't imagine it was flash but speed off hb is pure gold nowadays.

If I see Treloar on the half backline I'll vomit in my ****en mouth.

I'd also be super careful about bringing in all of Jones, Treloar and Darcy, plus any other player who hasn't had senior exposure this year. We'll likely be facing a Hawks team that's 0-3 the past few rounds, and hungry for a win - while teams off the bye can often let it slip.

Hope the MC is conservative and actually works with the current group on how to be a bit better than they were last week, with only a couple of changes.

          TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

Can I ask why you're so against Treloar playing at half back? I haven't thought a lot about it tbh but it seems like it could be a great fit, especially with how good our midfield has been without him in there.

Accurate kick and incredible ground ball skills, seems like he could fill the gap that Richards has left (I think Ed was the #1 defensive 50 ground ball get player in his last year as a defender). Plus, he'd offer experience in a relatively inexperienced backline.

Because we tried it and he doesn't really know how to defend like that. Try it out preseason if it's something we thing will be beneficial and might give him an extra year or two.

Can't remember when we've played him at half back so I can't comment on if he did well or not but I'd be shocked if a guy as experienced as Treloar can only play as a midfielder, especially since he'd be playing as a half-forward half the time when he comes back anyway.

He can play half back, he just wont defend well. IIRC he still got the ball and his rebound game wasn't horrible. He can also maybe play forward, maybe he's the crumbing forward we're after I don't know.

It was either 22 or 23. I vagely remember one of the games being against Sydney. We had a few out and it was maybe around the time Vanders also had a stint back.

Hujsh has covered it, largely. I would be inclined to push JF back into the backline mix and play Treloar where he's delivered at All Australian level recently.

But what do I know? I discombobulated when Beveridge put Matty Boyd back and look where that got us........with Treloar, I just don't see the desperation to defend though.

It was RD 17 2022.. I was at that said game and it was truly a ****ing awful night! We got beat by 53 points and I had to cop it all night from people who had NFI about footy.

Trelaor played HB, racked up 32 touches and didn't go anywhere near his opponents. Heeney was on him for periods and walked around by himself.

Frejiah can go back he hasnt been as impactful over the past month. Id leave bailey williams in the back 6 as well. We need to get bramble baker and duryea out of there quickly. McNeil should make way for a rookie to get some experience as he continues to add little value when we have others putting on pressure. We need quality kickers who hit the scoreboard who we can rely on. Mcneil stuffed up 3 chances last game and has done so many times before. Let someone else come in and make mistakes. Never know they might come good!! Mcneil is not coming good unless its against his team mates in preseason

A couple lucky lads this week. Cleary (Jacques didn't have a great VFL game), and McNeil (No obvious replacement atm - I would love to get Garcia into this role - he takes his chances in front of goals)

                              FB: Cleary, JOD, Fridge
                              HB: JJ, Lobb, Dale
                              C: Harmes, Ed, Truck

I get the angst over McNeil’s finishing but I’d be pretty surprised if he gets dropped. Our ground ball F50 game is keeping us in games. The mix is largely working pretty well. He’s pretty regularly involved in these scoring chains by hand. Yeah, he’s a limited player, but so are his potential replacements.
Dolan should be a pretty lethal forward option and his ball use by foot is excellent. Just not sure Bevo trusts him to be the pressure forward he wants right now.
                                Anyway, I’m going with

                                In - Adz
                                Out - Doc

Adz to possibly get a run out as Sub and bring some speed off the bench. I like the thought of an extra tall but not sure the Hawks are the right team for it. Their F50 smalls scare the crap out of me. Don’t think we match up well at all.
