Yep, some need time and patience in order to become the finished product. Daniel Cross may have been back at Albury real quick if we hadn't let him find his feet.

Rocket had to talk Gilbee into giving it one more year on our list and not ask for a a trade the first year Rocket took over as coach too IIRC.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

He's one of those players who anticipate where the ball will land better than other players so he gets to the drop a lot quicker which makes up for his lack of leg speed I reckon.

I really see a lot of Hamling in him.

Imagine if it got the same result..........

He needs to shelve that 12 metre kick he keeps going to.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

I don't think he's had one legal distance kick in the past month.

Josie the tread title of the year!
All of those sad feelings have disappeared, I think I can make it now.
That feeling we all know clearly and hope it's Cleary.

I still think Cleary should keep his spot, and assess over the next couple of months, if he can bring it in big games and moments.
There is nothing for him to learn in the VFL anymore, if you drop him, do it for good.

I think we've got to persevere. He's clearly not the finished product but he's shown intercept capability this season, and a willingness to take the game on.

I was concerned at his slow ball movement early. He didn’t seem to be inside the games tempo at all. Stopped and propped too often. Seemed overawed. I wondered how he’d be at the G with 80k Pies fans snarling. I wonder if the biggest question isn’t OUR doubts about him, but his own confidence and self belief.

I agree, he does seem to lack confidence and is afraid to make an error - which leads him to an error.

Also, there wasn't a good matchup for him, although Henry only kicked one goal.

Cleary - but I think they play a different way and aren't really competing for the same spot.

Wouldn't think of dropping him despite the poor game.

Showing an ability to intercept and get involved in play. Needs to eradicate the indecisiveness in his game and not turn it over like he did.
